Hi all, looking for a little assistance here. I d/l'd Oblivion from GOG, installed it, and (using Vortex) loaded and installed all the mods in the Through the Valleys bundle. I added a couple of further mods and launched the game. It was fine, everything ran smoothly. I've been playing for a couple of weeks. I'm at about level 8 or 9 and doing the first of Burz Gro-Kash's Fighter's Guild quests, called the Desolate Mine (I have to deliver some weapons to three fighters then help them to clear the mine of goblins). Inside the mine, once I hand the weapons over the game freezes briefly then shuts down. I've tried to bypass the fighters by sneaking past them and pickpocketing a key to go solo, but as soon as I open the nearby door to go further inside the mine, the game shuts down. I tried using the console to mark that particular quest as cleared but when I report back to Gro-Kash he thinks I haven't started the quest. I suppose I could just not do it but that shuts off a whole series of quests. I'm running it on a desktop, under Win10 Home and I've 16G of RAM. I don't have a video board but I assume the video capability of the motherboard is adequate since I've played the game for many hours without freezing, crashing, stuttering, or lapses of any sort up to this incident. Any ideas?

Just to close this off, I found a solution. Before assigning a hot key, equip your character with your bow and the associated batch of arrows you want to use. Then assign the hotkey and tell it to equip the bow. The arrows are automatically included. Afterwards you can equip any other weapon and the hot key will still bring up the bow and the arrows when activated.

Hi all, I want a bow and all my steel arrows in a hot key slot. Is there a way to assign them to a key simultaneously? Currently, whichever I nominate last (eg arrows) takes over from whatever I nominated before (in this case, the bow). Both choices don't seem to want to be together in the same slot. I only found this out when I encountered a bandit in the road and all I could do was impotently wave an empty bow at him.

Hi Kurpulio - many thanks for the assistance. Wrye mash is now installed - now to figure how to work the thing...

Hi there, I'm attempting to installing Wrye Mash (Podemas Fork) which came without installation instructions. During installation the first thing it tells me is to launch the installer from the morrowind folder. So I copied it to that folder and started the installation again. It then tries to install the program in a folder called Morrowind it creates inside the c drive (C:\Windows\Games\Morrowind). I attempted to override this to put it in the existing Steam folder that Morrowind was installed in. The installation then informed that that a folder called morrowind was already at the location and should I install the program there anyway. That surprised me - they obviously knew the morrowind game folder already exists so why do they want to create a separate one? Does wrye mash have to exist in a different folder? So my question is: should wrye mash be installed in the steam folder or in a different folder also called morrowind located on another drive?

Well, I'm very pleased to finally say it's all installed & working after I did a clean de- & re-installation of everything. Your comments were all very helpful in sorting at all out. With my new-found confidence in knowing about what file should be where I might even tackle upgrading MCP to 2.2 - tks for the info. Regards, Kangxi

Installing the Unofficial Morrowind Patch
kangxi replied to kangxi's topic in Morrowind's Troubleshooting
Done it! All now installed & working. The main problem I think is that the Overhaul actually installs 1.6.5 of the unofficial mods although you aren't informed of that during the overhaul installation. I realised this after I did a de - & a clean re-installation of everything. So thanks for all the help. -
Installing the Unofficial Morrowind Patch
kangxi replied to kangxi's topic in Morrowind's Troubleshooting
Dragon32 - thanks for the info. I've downloaded the files from your recommended site. I notice that there are two versions of v1.6.5 available, both of which claim to be the 'BTB' version (one on the title of the zip d/l & the other in the documention inside its zip file). Which one supersedes the other? (The files in both zips seem mostly to be the same but one has an extra .esm file) Can anyone help with my other questions: (1) which base patch should I use (the stable 1.6.4) or the later beta patch (1.6.5)? and (2) if I go for v1.6.5, which of the 'top-up' patches should I install: 1.6.5d or 1.6.6, or should I install both? (I assume if I install 1.6.4 then neither 1.6.5d or 1.6.6 will work). TIA Kangxi -
I'm trying to install the Morrowind Unofficial Patch & I'm running into problems. (I'm trying to get GotY up and running on Steam.) I referred to http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Tes3Mod:UMP for info. It's rather ambiguous so I may have interpreted the instructions incorrectly. As far as I can make out I should install v1.6.5b and update it by further installing v1.6.6 Is this correct? As these appear to be beta versions would it be better to stick with the last stable version, 1.6.4? TIA

I recently bought the Steam GotY edition of Morrowind and put it on my d drive. I then installed v3 of the overhaul which included the Morrowind Code Patch v2.0. I was advised on one of the Steam boards that i should then d/l & run v2.1 of the code patch, because it's improved & with more choices. After unzipping the 2.1 package I renamed the original code patch .exe to "(MGSO) Morrowind Code Patch.exe" and put the new v2.1 .exe file into the Morrowind directory. I put the Morrowind Code Patch Showcase.esp file into the data files folder and the mcpatch folder into the Morrowind folder. I ran the 'old' executable to deinstall all the chosen patches. But when I ran the new patch executable the program said it was still v2.0 and the extra choices (eg removing the 100 cap on skills & attributes) aren't shown. I got the v2.1 from Nexus - is it possible it's still sending out a mislabelled v2.0? It's more likely I've done something wrong though, so a pointer wd be v helpful. TIA.
