To topic creator, I feel your pain. You precisely, succinctly, eloquently, verbosely, loquaciously, articulately, summed up my experience with the "wonderful" world of modded skyrim. So many mods I want to use, but can't seem to prevent the dreaded CTD. Now that I've gotten a taste of what mods can do for this game, I find it near impossible to go back to the regular old "way it was meant to be played" vanilla skyrim. Seriously, go play a vanilla dungeon/cave/ruin. Now, go install an ENB with ELFX or RLO and play again. Near impossible to go back. Essential mods for me: Smoking Torches Realvison + ELFX (only for dungeon/cave/ruin gameplay) Wet and Cold Frostfall
