  1. I make sure that I have my Steam games only update between 5am-6am and only when I launch them. Since my chance of being online at 5am is rather slim and I always go offline and start with F4SE I did not get updated. I also back up my computer and make regular 7z of my game folder, Ini and plugin.txt files too. I have done this since Morrowind (even though that was for my personal save safety not because of updates). We all spend a lot of time modding and keeping our games running to have Bethesda mess them up again and again. I will wait to see what happens next. I hope the CC dies a fast, expedient death. They can take their 100 credits and put it where the sun doesn't shine. I hate micro-transactions and never have bought anything that way. Bethesda must have been hit with the gloo gun from Prey since nothing about the last 2 times has sunk in with them.
  2. I think this has to be a glitch on Bethesda's part. There's no way they want to give us all the assets for these mods. It's just begging for them to be pirated. And as some have said, if we got all the assets for every CC mod, the realities of hard drive space would force many of us to uninstall Fallout 4 pretty soon, which means we obviously won't be buying from the CC. Bethesda's stupid enough to have a buggy af launch. They're not stupid enough to do this intentionally. It's the only way Bethesda can provide the new scripts, meshes and textures to PS4 users. Then do a check for the system and only dump the files on PS4. Poor PS4 players again they get screwed. Most of those consoles have less space than us PC users do. This is not the way to give mods to PS4. Bethesda needs to really push on the Sony door more or drop this stupid attempt. Why should I house those files. So what if I can use tools to unpack them and make my own. I do not want the files period on my storage space. I never even put Bethesda.net in my main menus to my games as I did not want that either.

Added this to a wrong post, oops. I'm going to be 60 in May of 2017 and female. So yeah, there a lots of us. I always was looked at by my kids friends and the weird mom who games like a kid. I still have OBMM and FOMM from Timeslip on my older secondary gaming computer and I still use Wrye Bash on all my computers in various versions depending on my game. All along with NMM in 2 flavors. I have 5.6 installed on my older gamer because it works for a heavily modded Oblivion install that I have no intention of reinstalling and also for another earlier install of Skyrim. I use NMM 6.3 for F04 and 5.6 for Skyrim on my newer gamer for same reasons as above. I am a bit crazy because I use both NMM and Wrye for F04 management. I can't help it old habits die hard with this old gal. There was nothing so wonderful as a heavily modded Obilvion using Wrye bashed patch and challenging the 255 limits. Gee do I miss tlhe simplicity of that. Right click-merge. CBash was my friend. Never used MO, but it did have interesting promise. Now if NMM could also show us like in Wrye the installers screen with information on the mod installation itself, well I would be jumping up and down. NMM needs this for mod triaging when crap goes sideways. I like seeing the files with folder structure. Yeah, call me old gal, but it works. Oh, Yeah a saves tab too, need this.
  4. In response to post #43466325. Posted wrong spot. But I agree with you on Wrye Bash. I still use that.
  5. In response to post #40189165. #40211675 is also a reply to the same post. What would work for seeing individual install files in a mod that is more complicated would be like in Wrye Bash installer tab. You can see and manipulate all the items in the install of mod or Anneal when you want to reinstall a mod that you have overwritten with another mods files. Also you can see conflicts and missing files. I would love to see that in NMM and the saves tab. Really loved Wrye for years. NMM would really be great with this.

We have been hit by Crypto locker (In several of it iterations) several times in the past year and I can tell you even current updated AV solutions have big trouble keeping up with it. But AV solutions are important and so are Malware solutions. Ads are a primary cause of some of the Crypto issues out there. Even from good normally safe sites. Just bad ads. Lots of users do not use AV solutions as DAOWace (he is well known on Widescreen forums and sites and I am sure he knows why he does not and I will not fault him for that at all as I have often wondered myself about the chicken and the egg) and have never been compromised as they know where they surf and are extremely careful. But most people are not that careful or they live with others that have no sense or are not savvy. There have been of late some ads here that annoyed me playing loud bangs and then loud music or loud talking. If you have several Nexus pages open at once and the background page all of a sudden makes a loud bang, well I jumped in my chair. Robin, I understand the need to run ads. Income to support this site is necessary. I am guilty of using the Nexus for years and not having become a Premium member. But now just a small amount to be a Supporter for life...seems like a real deal. But I think becoming a Premium member is worth it to me since I use this site so much and have gotten much help from others here and well the wonderful mods. If those of us that can afford to become Premium members do that then that would really help with this. So I am going to do it because well it feels right to me. Thanks.
  9. iVolumetricLightingQuality=-1 bVolumetricLightingEnable=1 Equals God Rays on Low both at =0 turns it off. You could try iVolumetricLightingQuality=-0 bVolumetricLightingEnable=1
  10. In response to post #33508410. Settlers not assigning to tasks. This makes me crazy. They say "Got it" and then the item still says needs a person. Arghhhhh.

  12. I am going to wait for a bit before getting new ver NMM. I use NMM to mostly just install mods...Mostly. I use Wrye Bash to run my game and have some mods for Skyrim that are BAIN installed Yes for the same game saves and Character. I also have mods for Skyrim that were from 11-11-11 in the early days of all this that were installed manually as mostly textue/mesh mods but as time went on the became .esp/.esm mods and were manually installed. Then of course there are mods that I had to change or only use certain parts of that were added manually. I know that these will not go well because even though NMM see the esp I am sure it does not KNOW the mod which it did not install. I never used NMM for any other game, just Skyrim. I am glad that My morrowing, Oblivion, Fallout, etc. were set up with other managers in the days before NMM. So I only have the one game to fret over here. I will not jump blindly in now that I have seen all these articles and posts. For I know because of my way of installling my game it will not go smoothly. I know this and it would be my fault if NMM messed me up. I think I will BACK UP my game folder, Saves Folder, Applivcation Data, my Wrye install folders, and NMM install folders just in case again and suggest that everyone do so first so you can put it back that way it was if fail. But I will not install for some time. It is best to wait for when I feel I will have hours and hours to reinstall or restore and troubleshoot. I really appreciate the NMM team Devs that are working to improve this free tool that has helped us all in our gaming world. Kudos to them and may they get this working well for us all. Thank you to you. All of the frustration you see here is because we all love our games and what they do for us to take us away from our regular workaday lives. It can become our place away from crap. SO we get very stressed out when the game we have spent hours upon hours modding and playing gets messed up. Even if we know in our heart of hearts that it was never the intention of the Dev team at Nexus to have that happen. Afterall they are us. They do this because they love gaming like we do. Just my 2cents. Thanks NMM Team. I know anything new takes time and patience. (I am system admin and get bitched at by users all the time) You will get there.
  13. Thank you. I installed 50.2 and all went very well. Made a backup of my Mods and Info folder first just in case.
  14. I like NMM. I like its simple interface. I only use it for Skyrim and only to install mods. I think it does a very good job there. Dark one you will have to excuse me here, I have been using Wrye Bash for years and years with Oblivion and OBMM as well. I have a lot of merged mods with a bashed patch that if I used NMM for would probably break them (some very touchy mods). Most of those mods were hand installed before I ever used a manager. Yes that is nuts in this day and age but back then and in Morrowind days I installed everything myself as I did not trust a manager to do it right. So for my old trusty Oblivion installs I use those 2 managers. But for Skyrim I use NMM to install instead of bain. I just like it better for this. But I use a bashed patch (Why since so few mergable mods now and why IDK) and some mods I have do merge so need this. what I like in Wrye Bash is the BOSS integration but I usually just start BOSS from the GUI anyway. I think NMM is very very good, yes there are some things I would love, BOSS integration, plugin merging would be nice too. I do sometimes get the server busy but I just d/l again and it is usually fine. I live in the Western US and generally find the servers to be good. I think the Seattle and San Jose ones are my favs. They seem to deliver more times than not. For free software that helps me organize, mod and play my favorite game I am more than please. Keep up the great work and Thank you.
  15. I posted in another thread on this same issue. Yes it is a mess. I am running Steam offline for now as I do not trust patches at the moment since I CTD now constantly after never CTDing until now. Have spent hours on load orders, uninstalling and reinstalling mods, textures, etc. NO good. SKSE and without SKSE. I am tired I just want to play. Every patch makes hours of work in adjustments. This is a very intensive game to maintain. Yes I know it is because we like to mod it up that is why, but I hear that even un-modded installs are having issues with this. Best to put Steam offline and then block it at your firewall because I don't trust that it doesn't keep offline. Next time there is a patch I am going to wait and see first. Which is what I wanted to do with this patch but my "do not automatically update" this game updated anyway. I do not trust Steam now to honor my wishes on my computer which I paid for and with a game I paid for as well. I want to roll back to 1.4.21 but I backed up everything except the launcher.exe and well you can't revert without it. No no going back only forward. I will spend more time looking into everything to get it to work again.
  16. I agree too. Did not have CTDs with 1.4.21. I could game for hours. I have 40 plugin mods installed and lots of replacer and texture mods as well. Never had issue with CTDs from the base install until...now. SInce the Load Order change I have had nothing but CTDs. I use BOSS, NMM, Bash. I also have tried to manually order my mods to see if I could get it stable. I have uninstalled and reinstalled all my mods. I have the latest SKSE and Script Dragon. All was good before 1.4.27. It has gotten so bad that the longest I have been able to play is 35 minutes before a CTD. Most of the time it happens within 5 minutes. I can not load some of my saves unless I load a save and then load another save from it then I can load it. I am familiar with load order and the problems that it can cause since I spent countless hours in Oblivion getting stable. I just do not think that the new load order process is perfected. I only can hope that as NMM, Bash and such get more familiar with it that they can make better use of BOSS to help us more in this. Why does it always have to turn to modders and outside programmers to fix these things for Bethesda. Most of my troubles with Oblivion were fixed by these modders and programmers too. Unofficial patches and mod patches...Add to this Steam and that just add one more layer of issues. We have a very strong community and I know that it will get fixed. But for now I have no confidence in this new patch it has caused more issues than it solved. At least for me. I would roll back to 1.4.21 but I did not back up the launcher.exe. I had everything else...Shoot. I guess I will wait it out. Maybe play Mass Effect 1, 2 & 3 and then Skyrim will have another patch to try....
  17. I don't care about online at all. But building and destroying environments would be so cool.
  18. Steam reverted my settings to always update when I had it off. So I got the lousy 1.2 patch. That was horrible. My key bindings were borked and had no TAB key. Dragons...well that, crashing which I did not have before 1.2. It was a mess. I also had the launcher looping over and over that took me a while to fix. 1.2 defaulted my ini and prefs back to default as well. It was hours of work to get it to load again. 1.3 fixed the dragons, key bindings and low and behold it did not default my INIs this time. 1.3 not a crash after 4 hours of play. I am using 4gb patch. I have not noticed a FPS reduction. Getting a good steady 35-45 outdoors and 60 or more indoors on a 120 hz monitor. 3D gaming is very good. So it appears they rushed this out to fix what they broke. So now how about fixes for everything that needed fixing from day 1? But I am glad 1.3 did no give me any further issues so far. Keep the patches (ones that fix) coming.
