Since Skyrim is a northern climate, the sun should not be overhead at noon. But the shadows on things show that it is. The sun should stay lower, for example the height of the sun in Oslo, Norway in summer peaks at 54 degrees. Skyrim's sun should be no higher than 70 degrees at noon.

Like it says, in NW Skyrim, the area west of Dragon Bridge, south of Hags End, east of Deep Folk Crossing and north of Harmegstahl, I get freezes. I cannot enter the area.
I think it is not mod related because while using the same mods and going back to a very early save I can enter the area.
I have had region specific freeze before after a quest. I believe part of the main quest at the Forsworn Camp caused freezes around the area. That bug was not mod related.
Interesting though...blink teleporting south from Hags End, over the mountains... I enter an area completely void of detail. Just a flat brown surface and a floating horizon that goes on forever. I can enter this area without freezing, even though I am well south of hags end.
Just wondering if anyone knows if this is a common bug and hopefully how to fix. Thanks for any help.

I too am having the same issue.
I also cannot place map markers.

Bump...I have never bumped anything before....
I can move my virtual install folder without changing it in NMM and Skyrim loads mods and plays normally. If the game is supposed to be using simlinks and reading the virtual folder how can it be working? So I checked, there are no simlinks in the game folder, yet my virtual install folder is so large.
I also learned that you can't temporarily move the virtual folder to open space and then move it back later, unchanged. NMM will uninstall the profiles of all those mods. Which makes no sense. I would vote (if I could) against the virtual install. It makes the modding process more complicated and resource-hungry with no real benefit for the majority of users.
I would gladly pay up to $50 for a NMM with no virtual install.

Bump....
I just want to be sure...is virtual installed supposed to double the installation size? Or am I doing something wrong?
-
I thought that the virtual install was to keep the original game data untouched. But my Skyrim data folder is 55 GB, and my NMM virtual install folder is 49 GB.....is it really worth a virtual install if it is going to double the space needed to use mods?
Is 0.56.1 the latest version without virtual install?

What worked for me.....
I had trouble installing SMIM. It would run through half of the process, then the overwrite prompts just stopped and the mod was not activated.
After this, I right-clicked on the mod and hit "install and activate". After the install script ran, the overwrite prompts picked up where they left off before and SMIM was activated.
Good luck

Same issue here. I have to manually check for updates, and this has been happening for the past several versions. I have right clicked each mod and set them to show update warnings, but no dice.

On my list of probably-unrealistic-mods ideas:
Voltron power armor and the armor pieces are little robot cat companions.....

I'm surprised no one else finds it annoying.

Do godrays come into play in interior cells?
I'd prefer to lower the quality of these effects, not do away with them. I guess I'm looking for settings that helps the game run interior cells more efficiently.
The performance is just like being in cities, and mods like Shadow Boost seem to make no difference for me. I found some location_specific LOD settings in the complete ini (LOD for cities and interiors) but no change when testing them.

Never had to concern myself with indoor FPS much since buggy Oblivion. But my Vault 88 covers the whole buildable area and my FPS can drop to 14 from 60 just by doing a 180.
Can anyone remind me of some good indoor tweaks? I have tried messing with interior cell buffer and shadow settings with little difference.

When building rooms you need to start with the doorway- have a tunnel section with the door in place first, and the room doorways will snap to that. Then build starting from the doorway.

Thanks, it turned out to be a mod, Videos of the Wasteland.....saves made after I installed and uninstalled it prevented me from entering Vault 88. Reverting to a save made before I installed it was all I could do.

*edit* I should have said "quest ID info" in the title, not "script info"....
I have an issue where whenever I try to fast travel to or enter Vault 88, I CTD. It just so happens that Vault 88 is also under attack.
If I try to fast travel it crashes. If I fast travel to a location nearby the vault, I get the message saying that the vault is under attack. I head over and clear out the raiders, but when I enter the cave I CTD.
I want to try skipping through the raider attack quest using console commands, but I am not sure how to get the quest ID for a raider attack on a settlement/Vault 88.
......Of course my vault is also huge and I could be CTDing because I get 15 FPS is some areas in there....but for now I am going through the options I can work with..... any ideas are appreciated!

Surely, someone must be working on a Vault 420. Complete with a bar, dispensary, head shop, dance club, rave hall, chillax rooms, and of course......hot girls dancing in cages.
New buildable items like bars, beer taps, liquor display, jars for the dispensary, waterbeds, jacuzzi, and cages. For the girls to dance within.

I mean that if you use a jet pack to get on top of a roof, etc, they follow.

Any possibility of higher caliber ammo being able to kill 2 enemies at once? Especially in VATS.....
Bullets being able to ricochet...even possible?

Would it be possible for followers to fly around with the player?

I have an issue where regardless of what mods I use, the female faces have a dark shadowy greyness to them. It is not a dark head bug with a visible seam.
I have tried all of the popular face mods, and CBBE textures. Are there shadow and light settings for faces?

Ok, nevermind. Had a bad Workshop setting in my Fallout.ini

What is this snapping everyone talks about? I use the Homemaker, Snap and Build, and SMH. But none of these or the vanilla construction components ever snap together. They never have. Been playing since release.
Everything is placed freely. It is very difficult building because everything needs to be lined up manually.

This is still an issue! I have to install 61.16 to check for updates. Then reinstall 16.23 to install them and sort.
Lower the sun due to Skyrim's latitude for realism

Doesn't matter that it isn't Earth. The climate is cold, if the sun was directly overhead all the time, Skyrim would be tropical.
I found that it is impossible to change the sun anyway.
