  1. Ok I need some serious help. My oblivion is having a major malfunction and I can't explain what's happening. If any of you have heard of the water glitch where you have to turn the water in your game to purple instead of blue for some reason or the game will crash? Yeah that's my problem. Now I know how to fix it except for when I do I can't save the changes, my computer just says error, can't connect or something like that. What is going on? Someone please help I just want my game back, and if you can put a reply on how to let the water stay blue and my game running at the same time PLEASE put it.

The last time this has happened was when I played oblivion with a video card that wasn't updated with the current hardware. Perhaps, if you have an NVidea video card especially, you should check with manufacturer site for hardware updates. However, this is the debates forum, and the wrong place to ask this question.

    of course, that's debatable. :teehee:

  2. What a wonderful bill! It doesn't raise taxes, gives everyone healthcare, and since it lowers health care premiums by three thousand percent, people will even get raises from their employers!

    WOW RELLY? GO HELTHCARE WOOT!!!!!!!!!!!!

Obvious crap.... I like the sarcasm though! Kudos @ Retri, and thanks for the article!

The government cant be 'that' much competition to other health-care insurance providers. I actually would probably barely see a 2-3% decrease in premiums maximum, and that isn't from government competition. Because the public is now forced to have health insurance (This is what the bill was saying during the beginnings of Obama's UVHC.), the private companies would benefit from increased profit due to increase of consuming. Yes, they can force you to have health-care Insurance the same way they can force you to have car insurance. However, government health-care options creating competition? Nah....

  3. What do you think keeps those future farmers of Earth from going bonkers when the harvest season is over? Games will always be around.

Board Games, or Computer Games? Depending on how badly the Apocalypse is, computers may not exist. Crops may not even exist! Will it be bad enough to the point where there will be no time for games? I hope not.

Wow! For someone who is taking so many course's and studying so much you sure seem to have a lot of time to yap with me disabled body and others who are limited to 36 hour work weeks around the world.

Bad Idea. We all have methods of typing on keyboards wherever we go. I sometimes open my laptop in class, and post on this board. I also have opportunities at work to post a quick message here, and there. Internet is Global, my friend.

  4. Kids...

All of you Ivory Tower types can look down on ex-military and savage peckerwoods like me but IF things get bad WE will be the ones packing the gear and getting it done for ourselves and the people we love. And when you city-slicker-dudes come drag-assing up and want a handout you'll be bleeding out on the ground before the sound of our rifle reports reach you. That is, if you can make it out of the cities alive.

Before I get bashed for posting this, do any of you know how to hunt, boil water without a metal cooking pot, grow crops, sew, work leather, blacksmith or do anything else that doesn't require a power grid? Well I can do all of that. Do you know what native plants in your area are edible and which ones are toxic? Are you physically fit enough to walk behind a team of mules with a plow for 10 hours? Can you eat beans and rice every day with no seasonings, reguardless the taste? Do any of you have medication and survival food stockpiled to get you through at least two weeks? Do you know unarmed combat? Do any of you have a viable evacuation route that doesn't depend on highways? Do you even know the names of your neighbors?

Giggle and point all you want. And when you drop dead it will be a guy like me looting your corpse. And if I'm hungry enough I'll eat your ass.

I can out shoot and out ride most men I know. I have the fastest horse, the prettiest girl and the ugliest dog this side of Hell and I am in it to win it. Who amongst you can say the same?

EDIT: And I'm teaching myself to knap flint. How many of you know what that is without Googling it?

I'm not pulling jokes on people, I'm actually as prepared as the rest of them. I was just playing with Roe's take on how the geeks on messageboards will go first. I thought he was taking a jab at everyone who was talking on this subject!

My family farms, and most of my family is militarily trained. I, and the rest of my family (who are not farmers) are Medically trained. We have hidden stockpiles of food in our 4 acre property. We're prepared, and are as worried as any. We have some weapons, and I'm actually a non-professional archer as a hobby. Got my first bow when I was 8 years of age, and still have it! I'd rather use the gun though personally.

Neighbors hate the hell out of us though, so I suppose we're doomed. They are quite unprepared for something like this, but they have guns like us, so I reckon we'll last a day after everything falls to hell? Smells like the Hatfields vs the MCcoys, and since were in the south, the stereotype makes me hide my head in shame. BTW Kendo, when the end comes, stay away from my cats lol! Eat my useless dogs instead, do it for a friend?

  5. it's obvious how we all die out.. it's staring at you and you don't even realize it... mesmerized by the question of what could happen..everyone flocks to forums and glue their eyes to the computer screen in hope for an answer!.. in hope for a present escape of an unescapable fate! and while waiting..everyone fails to realize the world has stopped without anyone to preserve it..with everyone on the internet waiting for the ultimate bypass of destruction..they indeed ironically..cause their own extinction..Blame karma..blame the clouds...blame Al Gore....but in the end..when everyone has starved themselves in front of their computer..waiting for their internet to come back on...the only person to blame will be yourself.

Ha! We have to look at the past before we can predict the future, even in this situation. Remember Y2K? Remember the bug that would destroy all computers, and launch all nukes? Had quite a few people just sitting at their comps, kissing the forums goodbye, and doing things that would ban you in those forums. Since computers were going to fail anyways, no need to follow the rules! I remember a friend of mine made a joke 20mins before 2000... He told me he needed to get to his computer, and print out all of his porn before it was too late!

We know what happened there, nothing happened at all! That, or I'm in hell and don't know it...

Cheers to you Roe, and I hope your military training serves you well when the end comes!

  6. I need help with a script that detects when a certain element of spell (e.g. fire spells, frost spells, dmg health spells) hits the player. The script then adds special effects (e.g. shaders) when the spell hits the player. I need it to be a quest script, and I can handle scripting the special effects, but I can't formulate a script that returns a variable when the player is hit by a spell.

I do remember a magic overhaul mod that did something like this. I looked through the scripts of Mighty Magicka already, but I couldn't isolate a script that did it.

If someone could point me to this mod, or help me with the previous, I would be grateful.

    Regards,

    TD

Edit: I believe I have something worked out, but it involves multiple scripts. If It doesn't work, I will edit again.

Edit2: Sorry for wasting time. I studied my handy list of functions book, and discovered 'HasMagicEffect'

    Apologies...

  7. So what your saying is that capitalism produced a country so reliant on foreign aid (of sorts), in the form of financial backage, the country had nothing to fall back on when hit by a slight economic tremor?

I suppose it's faired better than Mexico, Greece and Iceland just to name a few..... What do you make of that?

I believe that sums up ONE of the points I was trying to make. The other had to do with Business not wanting to pay Health care benefits to their workers, and handing it off to the gov't.

Trying not to go off topic, but those countries you mentioned are failed examples of fail. Greece just collapsed because AIG(or one banking company in America, can't think of the specific one.) called for it's loans that they had secretly given to Greece. Capitalism conquering one of the most ancient of nations...

Dunno bout Iceland, but Mexico is too a stagnant economic cesspool. Not sure if either of those are true capitalistic nations. I do know Greece is, they proved it when the news leaked out they were investing secretly with a capitalistic company. Your counter-argument did get me thinking about one thing though. All of the nations in western Europe were at one time Capitalism based. France was, England was, Germany, E.T.C.

Now they are all Socialist nations. Fancy that.

Edit: I need to take a break from the forums, my arguments are beginning to show signs of weakness!

  8. Why does this smell like capitalism? It's socialist to give away tax money like this...... I just don't see the capitalism.

You know historically, about 100 years ago. People got benefits. Whether it was Healthcare paid for by the business, a Christmas bonus, or stock options. According to many texts, capitalism was very unpopular in Europe when it first began. The change was too much for the farming villages that dotted the landscape. When Marx brought up his Marxist ideology, the peasantry who were unhappy with the Bourgeoisie(sp?) started to follow the ideology. Marxism began with the intent to crumble capitalism by offering a solution to Industrialized populations. Now, in order to counter this, the rich Industrial Bourgeoisie decided to sweeten the deal of capitalism which came to a loss at their distaste. Benefits. Since the 1800's, Worker benefits have drawn people into Industrialization.

Now lets jump to the 1900's, and 1940's. The amount of people who are self sustaining (I.E. Farmers) have decreased by a large amount. Industry has grown in it's wake.

Skip ahead to the 60's... America can no longer sustain itself with food, without the need of importations.

Now skip to the 80's. Industry is all America has left as a money maker, and here is the kicker. Robots are beginning to take Man's place at the assembly line for cheaper than ever. Robots don't need healthcare, they need specialized mechanics. So what happens? The unskilled worker is laid off, and loses his benefits. The skilled worker is recruited, and because he is 'skilled', he is essential. This skilled worker demands Healthcare, and because he's irreplaceable.

He is given the demand. for twenty years, these skilled workers get the best healthcare. That is until the financial melt-down. Now the companies are hurting, and what is a major expense that those skilled workers are absorbing out of them? Health Care Benefits. The companies need this skilled man, but can't afford the Healthcare that is expected. Who you gonna call? The Government, and the people's money. Capitalism's little twist has revealed itself ugly quite recently here in America, right? The same thing happened in Europe, and faster because they were not as rich as we were, and the corporations adopted Universal Healthcare there.

    Alright, Nexus. Prove me wrong.

  9. So with no way to stop this bill ourselves, we have only one choice in the matter. Sit by, and watch. Smells like Capitalism personally. Making the government pay for healthcare instead of a business through work benefits. Isn't this what it is all about?

I still don't understand why we need this bill in the first place. I don't even understand why the businesses need it so much. It's pointless.

... and I did take the poor into an account when stating this. I can't seem to care too much about their medical plights. It's only going to raise their taxes as well as the middle class and rich.

Also, I was unaware that Grover did that despite Supreme Court hearings. I'm saving that for a college-debate.

  10. I would set the poll to allow every choice to be added. However, I wanted people to vote for moderators that they like on a personal level. You can go ahead, and collect brownie points for refusing to vote for any of them, but the purpose wasn't to prove which one was better. I know all of the Moderators, and Administrators have done so much for this site. We all acknowledge Dark0ne as god on the forums, whether we like him or not, he's very important.

Of course, the evil side of me just wants to cause disharmony. I also wanted to see who the most important people in the Nexus are, so I can categorize it, and create mods based on it.

That's my reasoning. I like to see stuff like this. It's like a pseudo-presidential election in my mind.

  11. Well, it's a real shame that these things are neccessary. However, I don't have any problem with it, it's they airport security that will have to process thousands of hairy butts day in and day out, poor things. Not to mention, it's a small sacrifice it it means the risk of being murdered while airborne will be lowered. Of course, I'm not in any danger to be oogled by some brutish securityguards, either, so I honestly don't have anything to 'lose'.

Personally, I'd rather die than expose my ass to some horny airport workers. I'm sure many women would say the same. BTW It's not only the ass. It's also the @#$%, @#$#@, and @#$%@#@.......

They aren't necessary 'really' necessary. A better form of technology that would surpass this morally is a device that uses the same concept, but like a CT scanner, scans bodies horizontally instead of giving a full body blow. It might take longer, but at least I don't have to worry about those fat horny guards!

And I am not upset with YOU. You're my debate thread bro.

Thanks Man. I still feel ashamed though. I thought you were literally asking the origins of the slur.

  12. ....and religion cannot come into your argument....

So where is the 'moral' outcry against this religious slur? Where is the outrage found in this thread?

    http://thenexusforums.com/index.php?showtopic=187312&st=0

Right now, I am SO mad I am having to restrain myself. So what's next? Racial slurs?

Whoah Whoah... Calm down. I wrote that with the intent of informing. I've seen so many racial slurs in the small amount of time I've been alive that I'm desensitized to it. I just don't care about race anymore. Except maybe Khaajits.

  13. I hate skill comments. Makes it hard to roleplay correctly.

C: Your a fit one, been running lately?

A: Who? Me? Nope, I play Oblivion all day.

C: You look like you have swung a mace or two in your time

    A: Wrong. Axes, actually.

C: You smell of death, been conjuring up dead things?

A: SHHHH, Carahil is right beside me. STFU will you?

C: You look like a shrewd businessman.

    A: ~ , player.additem f 10000000

The other ones don't bother me as much really.

  14. Obama is scheduled to be interviewed on Fox today (6pm US est/12am GMT).

    Bah. TL;DR

    or better put

Nobody really cares enough to see his Interviews. I usually learn about his interviews through fox anyways, and even MSNBC rarely covers them. When I was little, I actually believed that Fox was Democratic, because they always showed democrats, democrats, and more democrats. I later realized they were just bashing them. Or maybe they didn't bash enough in the old days of Clinton.

  15. Square (Now called Square Enix I think), and many other major players signed on with PS3. Though the x-box is a safe choice, Sony has better titles overall. I can't live without Final Fantasy for very long, Despite the fact my favorite titles have already moved on in the gaming worlds.

    Dead Space, FTW

  16.

And no, I don't know what 'they' say about 'jews'. Please enlighten me. :verymad:

Nice stereo-type for a religion, buddy. What exactly did you mean by that?

Hmm... I believe the stereotype originates from the 1500s. You see, in most European countries at the time, Jews were not allowed to hold land (They were blamed for the plagues, and other natural disasters by Christianity). Therefore they could not farm. So you see, they instead the moved into the city and became big bankers. This enabled them to get rich when the 1700's came, and soon they had quite a bit of control in the government.

Jews still hold many financial positions in many countries, such as public taxing. This has given them the stereotype of having tons of cash, and has given the rise of the term 'Jews, and their Jew Gold' in less reputable forums.

  17.

Recently a series of blizzards wrecked the American East coast, and area that hardly IF EVER receives snow, let alone the several feet that received. Global warming, huh? You know what their explanation was? The hot air was able to hold more moisture, so when it cooled there was a torrential fall. Here's the only problem: If it was holding so much moisture, an amount of moisture only achievable by record high temperatures, why wasn't there any rainfall or slight snowing before this? The air can't cool faster than the water can escape the cooling air, so as the air cooled, there should have been a larger amount of rainfall. Instead the opposite happened (as it would normally). The snow stopped once the temperature got out of the sweet spot for snow.

So what they are saying is, "It's only cold because it's so hot!"

Actually, it rained down here in the south before it snowed. It rained, and rained, and rained, and rained, and rained, and rained..... We had soo many flash floods it was silly. Luckily my county has the blessing of god, and never floods no matter how hard it rains. Then a few days later. Snow, and it snowed, and snowed, and snowed, and snowed, and snowed, and snowed, and snowed. Weather is a tricky subject. It as no true pattern, and is hard to predict. Even more so with climate shifting.

Remember, we have had odd hurricanes. droughts galore, and irregular snow lately. California (probably El Nino), and Georgia suffered from a ton of droughts before getting rain. Louisiana is now a wrecking-ball state, and recently the north is under attack from snow. Wild stuff....

I won't bring science into this post ATM, but I will after a good night's sleep.

  18. Aeon....

Strike one, for banning someone for the same reason twice.

Strike two, you should have been eating with your folks at christmas.

Strike three, for pointing out that Monster is a post monkey. Racking the posts is everyone's main goal.
