  1. I think it would go like this (But I don;t know how to script)

You'd finish the sexlivion script, then a new script would replace the womans body with that of a pregnant one. From there, say 24 hours (lol, rabbits), a child (like a miniture version of the player) would appear and follow you around until it dies in combat. Would that work?

Exactly. This is an abbreviation of the script I used, but linking the sexlivion script when it is in japanese is a lot harder than you make it out to be.

Of course, there would have to be some boolean stuck in there somewhere. You aren't always going to get pregnant on the first try. By floating a 'GetRandomPercentage' value, this could be solved. That leads me to the first problem. How are you going to fit this into Sexlivion when you can't understand those moon-speak japanese characters, or the script itself for that matter

  2. What the Hell? Is realy nobody interested in this idea??

Are the people realy more interested in virtuel "Sex" and Pregnancy??

For some of us, yes... I'm not ashamed to say it.

Your idea is good, but making a big deal of it in order to attract attention makes the opposite happen. Though in a sense that makes this post hypocritical.

In essence of this mod as an idea, I must warn you of a few game engine limits (Which may or may not have work arounds.)

    1. Fielding large amounts of NPCs on the field at once will cause them to freeze, and not do anything. Not exactly sure why this is, however, this makes large-scale combat impossible in oblivion. This itself makes many modders drop the idea on the spot. I believe the engine can use up to 15-20 NPCS before this engine-limit is viable. Not a problem for tactical warfare, but don't count on a helms deep.

    2. Applies to the above statement, but do you truly believe that most computers that play Oblivion can handle a large combat situation? I know my game crashes when I have 50-60 NPCs on the field (With scenery).

Now here comes my wave of positive karma....

    1. I'm always interested in a new plot. Something different, that I can sink my teeth in. True with every person on the nexus. Sex and Pregnancy is different, and after 4 years of playing this game non-stop, ANYTHING will peek your interest.

    2. As for the plot itself, there have been attempts of doing something similar. Servant of the dawn, as you mentioned, is a good example of two opposing forces. I think the boys at the Tamriel Rebuilt project are also doing something similar.

    Suggestions....

    1. Kill us with kindness, please.

    2. If you want scripts that are similar to Servant of the Dawn, then copy scripts from servant of the dawn. A simpler script may be found in this mod. http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=12591 As far as I can remember, this mod allows you to launch a large invasion of the different cities of Tamriel when you are sheogorath. Of course, you should try this mod. It has all of the game-engine problems listed above, and will help you determine what size you want use for your mod.

... That's all for now. Good luck, and such.

  3. I would probably be interested in this mod as it would make mod like Sexlivion more realistic.

I would only use but it if my character could have an abortion as I do not her to be forced into having children.

Eh, that might make the mod (and this thread) very, very controversial.

Best to avoid controversy. Besides, why download a mod offeringthe oppurtunity to have children (andnothing but) if your character doesn't want 'em?

As for my opinion of th emod, I like the idea. Maybe you could have a chance to raise the child, eventually having thegrow into a companion.

Maybe raise them up to bea law-abiding citizen (through dialogue) or a crazy axe-crazed assassin (my choice).

Or... if your character particulars sexlivion often... You could have a little army built up in a few game-days.

I made a script similar to this for FO3, but I never made any meshes for it. It's probably one of the few I still have after I wiped my computer a few days ago. HAHAHAHA! actually! It would be easy to convert and improve that script for use in oblivion. I could also use a modified skeleton to create the stages of pregnancy. http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=29853

Though, the only discrepancy I can see is making it run with sexlivion. When I open the script, It's complete nonsense. Japanese modders are top class it seems.

I still have some morals though, and doing something like this is beyond me and my motivation. Scripts are yours if you ask though.

  4. Basically armour and clothing that gains noticeable damage once its durability goes down.

Naturally your typical suit of iron armour would look normal when at full (maybe even polished at 125%) and as the armour takes damage it would show it (75%-51% would be gouge marks, dents and chips taken out of it, 50%-26% would be missing pauldron and leather straps snapped with pieces hanging loose, 25%- would be bare scraps)

Depending on how many stages of damage would depend on how many different versions of the armour there would be and it would noticeably knock up the size a bit of the armour. That and I am wondering if it would be possible (The werewolf mods unequip your current clothing and replace it with a bodysuit thats invisible in your inventory)

Personally I would find it awesome even if it were with only one set of armour or clothing

I have done this, actually. Though not for vanilla armor, I have taken the meshes from popular armors (HGEC only) and created permanent damage to the armor when the durability of the armor reaches 0. This, of course, making it essential to keep an eye on the current damage on your armor. I also have a script that allows an expert armorer to repair the armor to it's former glory (using the 125% repair aspect.)

Edit: The script switches armors with a damaged version of that armor when the health of the armor reaches 0, to clarify. the only drawback I know with this method is the fact that the game identifies that the armor is being switched with messages, and because of a limit of speed in the script the armor does not switch 'fast'. It takes a good 5-10 seconds for the armor to be added into your inventory, equipped on to you, and for the original armor to be removed. It's a stable script anyways.

The script mentioned by the OP is also pretty easy. I could also make a damned good script that showed damage to armor if it was hit by fire, lightning, or ice. Basic wear could also be done with a long-term quest script.

It has taken me about a day to create a piece of armor with 25-30 variants of damage (W/ Scripts, and including the time it takes for exporting). It's quite burdening, and the script to do this is very large. I would have released this mod earlier if I wasn't so ashamed that it was 18+ in nature. Otherwise, I could start working Vanilla Armor to HGEC bodies, and creating battle damage. Won't be hard at all, and it would be something I could stay attuned to for more than a week.

As for custom armors, I have already tested this on many armors (Female Only) from other authors. With some slight alterations, I could release them to the public for script critique. Only problem is getting the author's permission, and I don't think those authors would be O.K. with me messing their beautiful meshes and textures.

  5. I'm not fully partial to the bone heat concept, but I will take a deeper look into the method. It will certainly save me a trip to the forums when I begin creating completely custom armors/races.

As for bone heat being the problem, in this case it would be a no. Both meshes that I worked with were already weighted. I did have that problem once, as I was using a modified skeleton for a race mod. Now I know that was the specific problem. Kudos.

... and thanks for another alternate way of importing the skeleton. I have ruled out the problem as being skeletal through trial of elimination. The origin of this problem has to be in nifskope.

    Cheers,

    TD

    Edit:

Ho, I see what I did wrong.

    http://thenexusforums.com/index.php?showtopic=185800

I thought I had everything solid in the texture department, but it appears that I had made a simple error in the naming of a texture that made the engine not recognize the _n.dds that was supposed to attach to it.

    It was this:

    GreenObjctRobeTexture01.DDS

    GreenObjectRobeTexture01_n.DDS

one letter threw everything into disarray. Nifskope never picks things like that up.... Thanks for the help Raz.

  6. Lately, I have been having problems with exporting meshes from Blender. Despite following the steps provided at this link:

    http://cs.elderscrolls.com/constwiki/index..._Blender_Part_2

I have been unable to export a working mesh into Oblivion. Of course, the mesh looks fine in Nifskope, but when rendered in-game the mesh appears purple, and spikey/distorted. The thing is, the body mesh I had imported from blender does not distort and works perfectly, the clothing that was supposed to cover the body mesh does not. Secondly, and most oddly, the mesh that is distorted is from another working mesh. When I imported them all, I removed the original skeleton of each piece and imported the complete non-beast skeleton. I parented each mesh to the armatures of the skeleton, and imported after making adjustments to the meshes.

After optimizing the NIF with Nifskope, I tested it IN-Game. Mesh Distortion. I then imported the mesh back into blender, and took some extra steps. I applied Scale and Rotation to Ob Data, and re-parented each mesh to the armatures. After exporting it a second time, I opened it up once again in Nifskope and used the optimization tools. Still no effect.

I plan to try and optimize the meshes with PyFFI, and see if that works. sadly, that has never really worked before.

Are there any steps in Blender, or NIfskope that I may have missed?

  7. Are these diseases for real, or just hype?

Do you believe in 'New Age Plagues' hype?

ARE WE ALL GOING TO DIE?

To answer all four questions... "yes".

There, don't you feel better now?

    Much better...

So does this mean the topic is closed?

    >on topic<

A zombie plague? as in Dawn of the dead, I am Legend, or Zombie Land?

I still don't think that Zombie plagues will ever be a problem IRL, but you never know. Glenn Beck caught it from a procedure in the 90's, and seems to be exhibiting the symptoms.

On a serious note, if a disease did find some way to over-stimulate our Amygdala (Anger Control Mechanism in Brain), and our Hypothalamus (Hunger Control Center of out Brains) we would probably be snacking on each other before the day ended. Course we would not be limping and gimping to get to our prey of choosing, but...

Oh, and not to mention there would be no 'friendliness among other zombies'. Of course, I still don't see anything like that happening within the next 5 years. I'd rather get the bomb dropped on me anyways.

  8. Thanks for the source Balagor.

Looking through the list myself, I see most of the authors I was taught in High School.

This almost makes me reconsider my stance on using genetic engineering to remove malicious genes. Of course, some of those disorders may have not been due to genetics. This debate over the origin of mental disorders has its roots in the Nature vs Nurture discussions.

I hate using a movie as a reference, but it is based on a true series of events. If any of you have watched Sybil, then you know that we have one of those rare MPDs(Multiple Personality Disorders) taking place. However, both in the movie and the real case involving the patient (who's true name was not disclosed), there was a problem in the family. Abuse, Rape, etc. can all do enough damage to a psyche to create a mentally ill person. Genetics are just half the picture when looking at the ill of mind.

I'm still surprised that Ozzy is mental. He ate a bat's head on stage, true, but they do that in Africa often.

  9. What a "nice" world it could be, without any mentally ills. No crimes (exept those committed from those still sane)

No rapes (exept for those committed from those that think it´s there right)

No funny loonys, no "originals" who to make a motley crowd.

No David Helfgott, Mozart, Van Gogh, Mel Gibson, Ozzy Osbourne, Edgar Allan Poe, myself. I could go on. What a dull one-way world that must be to live in.

Ozzy had a genetic disorder? I can't find anything on it myself, unless your talking about some sort of predisposition to be an alchohol abuser. Ozzy had his reasons though...

  10. I joined nearly two years ago, but I never made one of these. Now that I have recently become active on these boards, I think an introduction is Necessary.

4 years ago, Morrowind blew me away with its wonderfulness. Now, Bethesda has me by the neck. When they say jump, I ask how high. My favorite Game Series is TES. I dislike Dragon Age, because I had already been worn out by KOTOR I and II. I have to be able to swing the sword, shoot the gun, and cast the spell myself. Click and swing games are the life for me. Oblivion has also corrupted my sense of what a good game is. No Argonians, Dark Elves, or Orcs? No hours of endless play? No huge world to explore down to the last detail, and then detail your own? Go to H#@#.

For this reason, I don't know much about other games. The world outside of Tamriel is so scary.

Oh, and thanks again Bethesda for making me a basement dweller. F#*(&$(#*&....

Good to meet you all, Let's all be friends?

  11. what you say has no meaning, the word two, and the symbol 2 have no meaning, they are simply vibrations and light, until we attach a meaning to it, 2+2 could equal fish, it could be gibberish, until we attach the meaning to the words involved, just because you SAY 2+2=4 does not mean it is true, as the word four could have any meaning we want it to

    Did that make sense?

People are so quick to come up with ideas they do not fully understand

edit: are the moderators always this involved in a discussion?

also, what would be the PRICE of this enginering? we could end up with a genetically superior race, and the rest of us who could not afford the improvements end up as slaves.

    Congratulations. You've watched gattaca.

When a toddler says "da-da" the first few times, it means nothing, but then the toddler learns the meaning. In real life, we have to learn the meaning AND the thing itself. This would just eliminate a step.

And 2+2 was just an example. It wouldn't actually be like that.

Please also bear in mind, it was only a semi-formed idea while I was in low blood sugar, so...

Not only has he watched Gattaca, he has also watched HardWired. Both good movies.

The voices in my head asked me to reply to this thread, you know, being predisposed to schizophrenia and everything.

The Human Conscience, the Genetic Code, and Human Nature my friends. Dog edam lla serutaerc llauqe. Bah there goes my Dyslexia again. Boy I wished I could have that all changed. All that suffering, gone. That's the future we are heading too, whether we like it or not. Genetic Engineering will one day be mandatory. Trust me, it will. If we can rid the world of the mentally ill, we (Government) will save quite a bit of money on Mental Institutions. Genetic Engineering is a necessary step towards the progress of human kind.

We may lose creative Van Goghs in the future, but we are too far in this to stop it. We've already completely mapped the human genome after all.

BTW, I haven't seen too much on stem cells. I suppose it might be right to assume that it's not a part of this topic?

    On the last note rbrohpy2...

Based on my knowledge, and to the dispair of Moderator Shunsui who asked us nicely to shut up about forced human mutation, we already have the genes in our genome to produce tails and wings and fur if god help us that is what you want for your child (Trust me, don't have aspirations of mad science like I have). These genes are naturally in us, and are naturally repressed by repressor proteins on the DNA strand that keep that particular gene from being transcribed when you are in a fetal stage. if they are switched off (and they have been before, see Inbreeding) such growth can happen In the fetal stage.

It would be best to stick to the Oblivion modding community, and make your winged children that way. However, it is a free country... Have it your way...

  12. It's not a debate if you agree with me  . I guess I have to be more radical in this debate.

How about.... Monsanto's genetically altered patented crops that are distributed world-wide cause cancer? That's extreme isn't it? If you don't hear from me in a month, Monsanto's thugs killed me!

    Back on topic:

At least I don't hear about corporation's strangle-hold on governments in Europe. They have apparently done a magnificent job in keeping the priorities of the people closer to mind. At least based on what I have heard.

It's a shame that historically, more specifically the 1700s, corporations had the power to make mighty nations crumble(See the India and China). If they are introducing disease on the peasantry, what can we do? Of course, this is still not on topic really.

    More on topic:

Conclusion? We aren't going to die from these diseases if we are healthy enough, true enough, but the American Media keeps feeding us the fear that drives us. The original topic was asking why we in America are so hyped about the diseases of the 21st century. In reality, the chances of H1N1 killing 50% of the population (See Bubonic Plague) are so slim it makes me want to cry. Yet the United States of Sheeple still fears. I'm sure everyone reading believes that H1N1 was never a big deal right? I'm also sure that some of you turn on the tele and watch Glen Beck, or Billo the Clown and have seen them make a big deal of it. Why is this???

    http://www.google.com/hostednews/afp/artic...YPgiGzJEAAaQg7w

    ... Oh... Argument side A...

Still more people die each year in car wrecks.... Till then, no problem right?

  13. Yes we all die in time. Joke :whistling:

Are we all gonna die? No. Are some gonna die? yes. Nature has alwyas from time to time done some cleanups. Latest and most deadly was the HIV virus..

How deadly those desease are depends on several factors; educational level(HIV in Afrika), the odds of finding a treatment, and most important, the financial willingness of a treatment program.

The reason more people in Africa dies from HIV, is due to not only lack of knowledge about how to protect themselves, but more the western world´s willingness(or lack of same) to help.

So, yes we decide pretty much how many and who, are gonna die, from a major pandemic outburst.

Well, of course we all die hehe. It's all the more reason to extend it as long as you can, despite Nature's outbreaks. Everyone fears death, pain, and taxes, and because we fear this we try and remain safe in order to prolong out lifespan. Human Nature 101.

Your last sentence could be misinterpreted for it's true value. Our knowledge does determine whether we explore caution in areas that may cause disease, but it too can create those same diseases. H1N1 doesn't seem to be man-made, and for good reason. Odd diseases that are still beyond our capabilities to treat, such as Morgellons or Aids, seem very unnatural. Some theorists believe that Aids itself was a man-made disease. I don't particular that idea, but I know people who do.

I also know that disease is a revenue raising industry in America, and I know that diseases such as Cancer and AIDS produce a ton of money. There are many corporations that would fail miserably if these diseases suddenly became controlled, or altogether removed. So it would be in the companies best interest to keep a disease from dying out, and create new ones to create new temporary solutions for that disease. Big Money! (I feel like a dirty conspiracy theorist...)

I mean come on, if the pharmaceutical market is big business. A Pandemic may make you one wealthy man.

  14. About a year ago, I stumbled across a disease that was incredibly controversial. This disease was named Morgellon's disease, and based on the news articles these diseases seemed something to worry about. According to some of my research, some subjects were under so much pain that they committed suicide. It is characterized as sores/rashes that have non-organic threads growing in them. A certainly strange disease, that should have had at least one major news network on the case.

    http://www.morgellons.org/

    http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/morgellons-disease/sn00043

    for those interested....

A year later, the news is flooded by new contender that was killing 'Masses' of people  . That is to say H1n1, or the Swine Flu.

Oddly enough, the media stormed the 50 states with fear mongering about this horrible H1n1 disease that is at risk for becoming a pandemic. Though in my research on the subject, this disease had only killed people with weakened immune systems (Children and the Elderly). Despite the fact that Morgellon's (if it was even a real disease, the CDC is conducting research to understand it ATM) seems to have some severe symptoms for people of all ages, and has too caused it's share of death and discomfort, the media has given it no words.

Though quite general, my topic for debate is:

Do you believe in 'New Age Plagues' hype?

    More Importantly....

ARE WE ALL GOING TO DIE????

    :whistling:

On a side discussion, I would like to hear everyone's opinion on Morgellons. Do you think it's real? Do you think there is Human involvement behind this?

  15. Hey, if anyone needs a hand in doing this, I would happily be honored to serve as a churl to be used for any task. I might learn something new, and maybe be useful. Maybe...
  16. Actually, I can say that I have the same exact problems.

I use the program Blender, and have a newb problem that I can't seem to solve. I used a default Imperial Head, and decided to move some of the vertices of the mesh in blender(None of the important ones, such as the eyes, so I didn't have complications with them in the future.). I then parented my nodes, and exported them as Netimmerse(duh.). I opened the new mesh in nifskope, but I did not really do anything with the mesh in Nifskope. I then tried to render it in CS, but CS crashes whenever I render the head mesh. Is there anything I can do in Blender or Nifskope to fix the mesh and make it renderable? I know what I do from reading the CSWiki Armor/Weapon Tutorials, but since a head mesh is much more complex, I know I need a bit more information. Thanks for any help.

  17. Mothership Theta for Oblivion? Hmm...

I Don't see the alien mothership taking a detour through time, space, and 'Game-Engine' all for the purpose of abducting the Adorable Fan, and conducting gruesome experiments...

    Wait, scratch that... I do.

    But seriously, Game Engine!

I don't see power armor working in 'Blivion though. It doesn't seem that bringing in mega advanced technology to a civilization that hasn't even invented gunpowder would fly right. I mean, would bows and swords do anything to it?

  18. My apologies for beating the dead horse, but I'm happy to announce that I will be posting an official thread for the a Tauren race mod by the end of the week. I'm already in the process of organizing the necessary data and supplies I need to start phase I of it's creation. If you are one of the people who have moderate interest, I will be expecting your posts and criticism as well as ideas and help offers. If my progress is slow, it's because I'm in the process of improving another mod of mine in the mixture.

Again, I thank TESNexus for their generous idea contribution.

    Till then,

    TD

  19. Well, despite all of the helpful hints...

It seems currently impossible to have a function that returns one if the player is hit by an attack. There is currently a wish list topic on the CSwiki that addresses, but it has been 3 years since it was wished up.

    :wallbash:

Oh well, enough mental abuse for one day. I'll sleep on it.
