  1. I'd tried a lot of things attempting to fix the radio stutter problem with my Asus Maximus Extreme built in soundcard (it's a SoundMAX card), on a Vista 64 bit setup, and was ready to giveup. I tried numerous .ini tweaks (audio cache related, multi-thread related etc.), installing the "MADFilter" (both with disabling Fraunhofer using InstalledCodec, and without disabling), setting FFDshow to not run with Fallout3.exe, updating my sound card drivers... standing on my head while starting the game up... various reboots and new games between... I just couldn't fix it. It felt like no matter what I did I couldn't fix it, the stutter seemed to be stuck with me. Browsing these forums again (after spending most of yesterday browsing forums all over using google looking for fix ideas), I discovered psyclops guide on page 5 of this thread, and in the end I did a few things at once in desperation... so I can't track the single thing that fixed it, but incase it helps others, my final stages, which did fix it, were as follows (in order): * Reset my .ini files back to complete default settings (so no tweaks at all - no audio cache changes, no multi-thread changes, nothing, no tweaks!) * Unregister and delete the "MADFilter" I had attempted (so no longer have this, it didn't fix it) * Uninstall "Tversity codec pack" * Uninstall FFDShow * Install *latest* standalone FFDShow (this has a huge list of built in apps it's already disabled for, and already included Fallout3.exe, a good sign IMO) * In FFDShow Audio Config, slid "Merit" slider to far left ("Do not use") - I don't think this actually has any impact since FFDShow should be disabled for Fallout3, but I saw it posted somewhere and thought I'd try it. * Installed CCCP Codec Pack (when installing it mentioned about disabling some Nero thing or another I've never heard of... I only use Nero burning rom, I didn't realise how many codecs Nero had thrust down my system's throat....) * Disabled everything in "InstalledCodec", then enabled *all* video codecs, *ALL* Microsoft codecs, the Fraunhofer codec, *all* FFDShow codecs (I figured I'd try these enabled since FFDShow should now be disabled for Fallout3), and the RealPlayer codec. In essence what is now disabled is a huge list of "Nero" codecs (wtf!?), some codecs for "Haali Media Splitter" (I've never heard of this...), some "WavPack audio" codecs, and some "Gabec" company codecs. Looking back at all of that makes me think the stuttering problem had absolutely nothing to do with the game, settings, cache - it was purely a conflicting codec issue, and all my playing around with codecs somewhere cleaned up a broken one/removed a conflicting one. Thanks very much psyclops for your valuable guide on page 5 of this thread >>> click here for psyclops radio fix guide <<< It was going through that which led me to the Tversity codec pack removal, the CCCP codec pack install, and attempting to disable everything in "InstalledCodec" - I'm pretty sure it was one of those that fixed it, if not the reinstall of the latest FFDShow. Yay new working extended 100 songlist Galaxy Radio :D
