  1. Thank you guys for some of the insight. I have read some forums and a lot of people have come forward saying that the 970 and 980 (for quite a few people) has been giving them issues with Skyrim performance wise. I dont think the game can properly utilize the 970 and 980. Ah well. The new Pascal 1000 series from Nvidia is rumored to coming as early as June, so there's yet another reason to save up. Thank you both! (What I wouldn't have done to play the game a day early, Jimmy ;)
  2. Hello everyone! I have been playing Skyrim since day one, and I have been modding it for a long time. Recently, I have decided to get back into it, only this time I'm shocked by a very blatant problem.... In nearly all cities, and in some areas of the wilderness, I get a terrible frame rate that drops from about a solid 60 to 30-45. This is very abnormal, as I have an excellent system. My system specs are as follows: CPU: AMD FX 8350 GPU: MSI GTX 980 RAM: Vengeance 8GB SSD: I have skyrim on an 850 EVO 500 GB PSU: Corsair 750W I have checked my temps, all is very cool. Uninstalled my graphics drivers (very clean uninstall) and reinstalled. No difference... I'm pretty tech savvy, and have been tweaking and modding skyrim for a long time now. But now I am just at a complete loss for words as to why I could be getting this terrible frame rate whereas in the past, on the SAME hardware, I was getting a solid 50-60 FPS with 170+ mods. And this lag is in VANILLA SKYRIM. I do have suspicions that this could be a hardware issue, but I'm hoping it's something less dire, as my processor, SSD, PSU, and video card have only been in my system for less than a year... I did a lot of upgrading last year. If anyone has any suggestion on what I should do next, I would appreciate it immensely. Thank you in advance! (And yes, I have tried a fresh uninstall) ~Nik
  3. I get this error every time I download an update to a mod and try to install it. Except it won't let me install it. I never had this issue till a couple days ago, and I have NO idea how to fix it. It has happened to two of my mods that were recently updated. Books of Skyrim, and Alternate Start. I will use Alternate Start as an example. The error is as follows.. "can't delete output file C:\program files (x86)\steam\steamapps\common\skyim\mod organizer\mods\alternate start - live another life\alternate start - live another life.bsa" Now I wish I was much more knowledgeable with this, but I'm not. Is there anyone out there who could tell me how to fix this annoying issue? Thank you in advance!
  4. So I used SMM, and decided that I love the features, not the user friendliness (Just my opinion, but a great tool). So I uninstalled it from my computer and now I'm unable to download from NMM anymore. I think that SMM is still somehow the default place where downloads go? How do I put it back to Nexus Mod Manager? Thanks!
  5. I was at Fort Hraggstad, and I just disabled Frostfall and fast traveled out of the area before it crashed. That seems to have fixed the problem... but I still doubt I have seen the last of it.... Thank you guys so much for taking the time to help, and I will try to nip this problem in the butt if it occurs again!
  6. Hello. So I have had many issues with Skyrim in the past (haven't we all?), but this is odd. My game crashes literally every 2 minutes in game as of today. This hasn't happened before, and I don't know what's causing it. Skyrim runs very well on my PC, and even this is out of the ordinary. PC SPECS: GPU: GTX 650 TI BOOST 2GB CPU: 6-CORE AMD PROCESSOR RAM: 8 GIGS And yes, I have ran BOSS MANY TIMES. (I would like to put my Mod load order up, but is there a way to copy and paste it onto here? I don't want to spend all my life typing 'em) Thanks in advance!
