mods + game updates = love ? (noob question sorry)
FutureVisions replied to furyolct's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
Depends on what the mods requires. Usually if a mod requires a specific game update you can often find that information on the mod's page. Many mods also require SKSE to work (I don't know if that's the case with the mods you're using though). But if you're using SKSE you should know that the externder's versions have a corresponding game version requirement. So if you want to keep SKSE up to date you must have the latest game version. For older versions of SKSE you must use an older version of the game (this is usefull for example when a new game patch is released but the SKSE hasn't been updated yet). About the specific mods you mention I'm not sure since I don't use any of them, but I believe SkyRe is a fairly complex mods and these tend to mess up with a lot of things. I'd be surprised if it didn't use SKSE or wasnt dependant on game version. But like I said you should be able to check the mod's page for the requirements. -
Ninjas don't need shields! If he's not detected, he doesn't need a shield. If he's detected he's not a ninja! xD

Skyrim is the Perfect Machinima Creator

There's a mod in the hot spot, (or was, in the last couple of days) that allows you to manipulate facial expressions. Let me see if I can find it. Here it is: Click me. Its not so much a mod but more of a guide as how to change facial expressions using console commands. Hope it helps. -
There may be several reasons to endorse a mod. I most certainly would not consider complexity an essential aspect for endorsement. Like it has already been debated a few pages back. All it takes is an enjoyable mod or a basic mod that contributes a lot to "whatever". Personally I found that the Randy Savage mod was less funny even though a bit more complex (possibly due to the fact that it's comedy style wasn't as subtle). But then again that's just my personal opinion. Much like you have yours. But I don't judge other people's opinion's or their right to have them or express them (even though I may not agree with them all).

@Dyflinn432 Lol, thats some hardcore RP you got going there xD. However I like the idea of sharing profits with the followers. Had never thought of it.

You have very little faith in this community's judgment ability. Sure thing a lot of "joke" mods have been made and cabbage in a pot wasnt the first nor the last. Some have been taken down and others never got many votes for varied reasons. Even though that Wrestler dragon mod did. I believe it has even become file of the month at some point or close to it. I actually found it. It's called Macho Dragons. The video for it and here is the link on the nexus. Now the point you raise is what should be considered a joke and what shouldn't. And if being a joke (but non the less a mod) should be basis for a removal.

@ ZombieWombles True. However the mod also had a lot of positive feedback for the most part from what I saw of it. However I didn't check it for the last couple of days. But if you see someone getting bullyied feel free to use the "report comment" button, that's what it's there for. And by doing so you're actually helping the community in reducing that kind of behavior.

Agree wholearthedly however that is a "people" problem, and like Lisnpuppy said, there's not a whole lot that the moderators can do to stop it without specific enough reasons. If you put something out there to be evaluated, you should excpect there will always be people that like it and people that don't. That's healthy. What isn't healthy is shutting one side down, on the basis that their opinion is diferent than my own. A lot can also be said about constructive and destructive criticism and the forum has its own guidelines in respect to that. Thats why there are moderators. We should just wish/hope that they do their job's the best they can.

If it was the author's decision to remove the file there's no need for a petition. I made this post on an assumption that was wrong and that, personally, I found has been justified by the response you gave me earlier. The author has all the right to remove his/her files if he/she wishes to do so and this "petition" was not intended to put any pressure on the author to bring the file back if that is against his wish. Knowing that he can reupload it if he wants is enough for me in answering to the main reason why I wrote this post.
-
Would if I could. Problem is, I can't - I thought the author removed it, and If the author wants to re-upload the mod he can. The only interaction I've personally had relating to this file is removing a dead link from another file's description page, that took place yesterday - and also the closing of a few reports made about comments relating to this "cabbage" file. Those were closed due to the file already being gone. I removed a post from the comments section - but that was just before I realized it was from a thread in our archived section. So, yeah - if he wants to put it back up he can. Thanks for the quick reply, in that case I stand corrected and glad to know it was the author's decision.

This mod has made at least the "browsing for mods" diferent than it usually is, that's for sure. "Browsing for mods" is what most people do on the nexus tbh. A big part of the time I spend in these games is actually spent doing this and finding something that makes you laugh is something I would most certainly consider enjoyable. We do have an absence of facts. Besides the possibility that removal was a moderator decision, there is also the possibility that it was the author's decision, with a moderator acting on the author's request. Under those circumstances, further speculation may not be fruitful. That's true, that's why I left space for being mistaken in my assumption and asked for a moderator feedback.

I'm not saying it happens all the time but it does happen. I personally know of one mod that got plenty of votes with the way I mentioned. Oh well. If you're saying this mod "campained" to be in hot files it was a community campain and not a an author campain. If the community wants a mod in the hot spot. How is that a problem?
-
Not necessarily. For some mods there are small,PM-driven,"campaigns" going on so they can enter the list. Usually people don't campain to get their files voted. Except for very usual "remember to vote if you enjoy" on the mod's description page. Which makes perfect sense. And I never felt that any top voted mod has gotten there by campaining but always because people actually enjoy it. Even if I personally might not agree with some of them being there. And anyway this wasn't even the case with this specific mod. I bet the mod author never expected his mod would make it the hot spot.
-
The only thing there that would remotely apply would be: "Bogus file (joke,..." However a lot can be said when it comes to defining a joke. I remember one of the first mods on the skyrim nexus was one that turned dragons into some famous wrestler or something. There were also other mods that changed the voice assets of mudcrabs for laughs. And those didnt get removed.

Lol dude, I like your post, you seem like a nice person. Maybe too nice for current times. xD In regards to your post, what I think i identify with the most is the fact that I cannot let companions die. Ever! Unless perhaps if it's part of a quest, and even then I think I would have a really hard time doing it. I believe there was a quest like that and I couldn't do it. My ebony blade will also never see it's full potential because of that xD I don't usually hunt, but often kill predators hunting prey xD. I don't kill inocent people. Except in some rare conditions. And then also feel bad about it. Don't give a damn about traders though. I usually milk them for whatever they have and always try to leave with more money than what I started the bargain with xD In fact I often milk all the traders in the same area at once. And sometimes have to travel before completing the milking. Rarely fast travel. Must.... complete.... all... the.... quests.....!!!! My main char is a warrior-mage-thief-werewolf-assassin. I'm the dragonborn and if some dude in Markarth asks me to deliver a note in Windhelm I....must....do.... it! I do try to start off with the char theme missions first though.
