Just finished the game on normal, found it a little too easy, went to classic ironman. What i've later realized is that i liked the feeling of normal more, but miss the possibility of facing 20 sectoids on the second campaign mission rather than just 4. Heres an example of what i mean: 1. Before any mission is initiated (or at the start of a new game) set the difficulty to impossible. 2. Once the mission begins(troops on the ground and tactical combat begins), set the difficulty to whatever level you like. 3. Enjoy battling masses of enemy aliens, without the crushing disadvantages of combat you normally get from impossible mode. A mod that did THIS would really make my day.
