So this game doesn't like AMD crossfire?
Yknotu replied to Beriallord's topic in Dragon Age: Inquisition's Discussion
I don't use that card, I have the AMD Radeon R7 200 Series, but I had stuttering and crashing with my game (graphic settings at medium). I updated the driver for my monitor. Got to admit, updating the monitor never really crossed my mind before, but it was suggested by someone, so I tried it. I also downloaded FLASHPLAYER. Stuttering and crashes stopped (graphics on Ultra). Coincidence? Maybe. But certainly worth a try? -
Maybe you should have someone just download a completed game so you don't have to go through all this trouble? I'd rather play through and earn my place in the game than have everything handed to me. There is a 'casual' mode you know, for those who just like the cinematic aspect and don't really want to play very hard?

Bioware working on Creation Kit?
Yknotu replied to m3dicat3d's topic in Dragon Age: Inquisition's Discussion
This game just released for crying out loud. It's always best if you play through to see the real deal before you start modding the heck out of it! You never know, what you ask for in a mod may already be in-game you just haven't stumbled over it yet? I'm a mod lover, and cannot wait for all the great things people will come up with, but meanwhile, I'm enjoying just playing this game as is!! -
This would be a bug, not a mod. What you are experiencing is not a normal part of the game. Have you tried updating the drivers for your video card and monitor? Lots of people forget to update the drivers for their monitor. I was one. Had lots of difficulties, stuttery music, random crashes, slow loads, and my graphics settings were on medium which was disappointing as I just bought a new computer for Christmas and it was really powerful (according to the manufacturer). I even contacted the computer manufacturer thinking I had been shipped a lemon. Their techs couldn't come up with any ideas and I was about to get my money back on this thing when I decided to check all my drivers. This is a new computer, I didn't think I would have to do that? As it turned out, I needed (and installed) new drivers for my monitor, my mouse, my keyboard which fixed the slow and jerky response times. I also downloaded FLASHPLAYER and that really upped my graphics as well as rid me of the stuttery music which was a total surprise. Now I have my graphics set to Ultra and love it! I still have shadows and ambient lighting at High though (not Ultra) and water and flora is set to medium. I'm bumping up each category one at a time to make sure everything stays this wonderful. I started a new game and had no idea how glittery lyrium was until I set my graphics details to Ultra. It absolutely sparkles! I couldn't see any scars in character creation before and now I can. And where did all this fog in the mountain pass quest come from? That wasn't there before. It's like a whole new game! Don't know if anything I did will help you, could all be a lucky coincidence, but it's worth a try?

Cant get past the loading screen
Yknotu replied to Leonfer696's topic in Dragon Age: Inquisition's Troubleshooting
If you think that's the mod that did this, delete it. You should be ok. If not, I'd delete the game and redownload it pristine without putting that mod back in the game. -
Does Bioware intend to upgrade the game to include any of the mod suggestions listed in this forum? Some of these suggestions sound like major changes that only Bioware could do? But I know one thing I miss most about Inquisition versus the other Dragon Age games is the opportunity to switch from ranged to melee weapons during battle. Not sure a mod could handle that but would be really nice to have that feature back. And what's the point of giving us all those regen and resist potions if we cannot change to the ones we need based on the battle we are in or at least set up a tactic to do it in a pinch? I'm not in the habit of running into a zone, targeting all the creatures to see what they are vulnerable to, running out of range, shifting my tonics and bombs/grenades to adjust and jumping back into battle. If I can't change the tonics as needed, then make them throwing tonics that shatter in order to protect my entire party? That way each party member could carry a different potion based on the target. If cold resistance is needed, toss that tonic, if fire resistance is needed, toss that tonic, etc. Right now I have to spoon feed those to each character. If anyone knows how to adjust that to a more automatic way, please share? Also, the tactics choices are so limited. What happened to situational choices, like for magic use ranged weapons or switch back to melee when needed, or attack mages first. I know the tactics window is supposed to let you make those choices, but it disconnects the player from the action. Preset situations/reactions lets the game flow without the interruptions. Not sure why Bioware abandoned those features, they were really great!

Request - Improved prices
Yknotu replied to KainsDaughter's topic in Dragon Age: Inquisition's Mod Ideas
There are ways of improving prices by purchasing favors and using inquisition points. Have you tried that already? -
Request: Fix Cullen's Face?
Yknotu replied to bruisehilda86's topic in Dragon Age: Inquisition's Mod Ideas
I disagree. I think Cullen is wonderful. Although, if I had my choice, I'd rip that bearhide collar right off him. And I mean that in a fashion-sense way, or maybe, no-fashion-sense way in this case? -
Mod Removals Due to Community Aggression
Yknotu replied to lovesmyguide's topic in Dragon Age: Inquisition's Discussion
I think everyone is getting a bit too emotional on this post and needs to take a step back. What I took most from Lovesmyguide's post was that more people seem to be less appreciative of the talent that goes into each and every mod. If there's a downside to a mod, there's a place to share that, but in doing that, put some upside info as well. No one wants to feel underappreciated when they've worked so hard to present a gift like these mods are. Also, I took Lovesmyguide's reference to Premium membership more of a statement of commitment than status. There are many sites out there and many subscriptions as well to choose from, free and otherwise. To commit to a website with hard earned cash shows a commitment level those who come and go do not share with you. Better service, yes somewhat, but what we premium members are really doing is donating to the cause to help support this site's continued presence and we only do that because we care and appreciate everything you do here. So, I for one, am thanking you wholeheartedly for all your efforts and achievements all these years. They are nothing less than EPIC! -
Well, darn, there's my answer to my earlier post regarding the Nexus mod manager. Bummer....

There's a unique mod tool on this website for downloading mods. I have yet to find a clear enough step-by-step to attempt it. I'm still reading up on it. I wish someone would just incorporate it into the original mod manager so Inquisition is listed along with my other Dragon Age games and Skyrim. At least I know how that mod manager works. If there is a way to incorporate this new DAI mod manager into the old Nexus Mod Manger it eludes me. Maybe someone could post a tool for us newbies into this modders realm like "Mods for Dummies" or something? It certainly would help me. There's posts everywhere about this but so far nothing's worked right. I have all kinds of mods in-game for DAO, DA2, and Skyrim. But this new DAI manager intimidates me.

I have the same problem with missing scar choices. The slider is there, but no choices show up. There's another slider that lets you choose how visible the scar is and I pushed that out to the max, still nothing. But I'm unsure about the patch stuff? I'm pretty new at the whole-behind-the-scenes stuff. Do the patches automatically update when you start the game? Or am I supposed to be going somewhere to download them myself?

In response to post #11953955. I just downloaded the update today. Couldn't log in before. Works great now. As long as I'm already logged in on the Nexus Website, the manager opens right up. Much better!
