As far as I can remember, that rifle was bit bigger. Like 50 cal round bigger. As for that commandant fin thingy, sure, why not?

Have you tried dalong.net?

Now all you need is a balaclava to hide the neck. :drag:
Yep. I actually think I have a balaclava model lying around I built last I worked on this armour, so I just have to fix the UV's on it and conformulate it such that it can be worn by all face types... and then texture it. While I'm at it I think I'll redo the UV of the M42 helmet as it's quite shitty - I hadn't learned pelt mapping proper back when I made it, so it could use a little love to make it more texture artist friendly.
Edit: Found the balaclava model, so now I just need to come up with a design that will set it apart from all the other balaclavas out there - otherwise I might as well just retex someone else's work. Maybe some kind of mask interface hood with some tech stuff going on around the eyes...
Hmm.... Perfect!

From the depths of hell, I give an itty bit of progress I had with the model.
Subdivided smooth so it looks a bit nicer.

I had little to zero time doing the model for a few months, so sorry if your actually waiting for this to finish.
I'm learning 3D Max and ZBrush (plus Flash... but that's for work) for now, pray for me.
Tell me what you like or don't like about it. Do be nice, I'm still learning here.

You won't see it anytime soon so look here for updates. I'll put up a bit of modeling update sometime later.

It's not like the H2H combat preview aren't intriguing enough, but I'd like a sneek preview of the suits myself. Even a silhouette or a sketch would be nice. Of course it's all up to you Junin. Looking forward to this.

Best of luck Alex. Visit us once in a while okey?

That was fast :)
Yeah, my problem right now runs like this: I have a model that includes a UV map to help with texturing-problem is, when I run the UV unwrap in Blender, It looks nothing like it and is usually REALLY bad and confusing-the model is quite complicated so half the stuff in the UV unwrap doesn't even appear on the model.
OK. It seems just getting a better explanation made something click in my head. I managed to create a perfectly matching unwrap. I have no clue what the hell was wrong or how I did it, but it's working now....
Thanks a lot for the help mate :thanks:
EDIT: AAAAAH i get it now. The standard unwrap in Blender works like a charm, the "really cool smart unwrap that is better for you" screws things up by being way too precise. Time to start texing this bad boy XD
Smart Projection can be a bad idea for mostly round meshes , yeah standard unwrap is the way to go. Don't forget to move it around after you stretch and tweak your UV map, make use of those empty spaces and scale up those tiny unwrapped objects as much as the space allows for optimal texturing quality. I'm not sure if it's fixed, but an old version of Blender has a glitch when exporting UV maps as targa. So be careful with that.

The new suit reminds me of Armored Core for some reason. Maybe it's the helmet or antennae thingies on the shoulders.

Get a .bsa unpacker, Fallout Mod Manager has one. Then unpack Fallout - Textures. bsa, look around for files with same names.

YES!
Are you doing a female versiontoo, or will you just apply the male model on the female set?
At first no, but that would be efin horrible. I drew out the designs for the female suit, less plates more tush. And maybe a different helm for the ladies, something that looks like raidens visor from MGS4 w/o the transparent hood thingy. I don't know how to do that. I'll post the designs later on the weekend.

Here's what I've done so far.
Subdivided for viewing pleasure. (?)

No need to apologize, they practically have the same concept and design. Except for the mask.

@ jaysus
Once I get me a light table, I'll fix the leg, knee, etc.; background and then the nipples. ;)
@ fabulance
I enjoy the details you put in your work, great job.
Before working on your shadows, etc. I would suggest studying first structure and figures. I highly recommend googling Andrew Loomis Books. Especially, "Fun With Pencil". Keep it up!

Just my opinion but the shadowing on the nose needs work, she looks like she has two noses. The knee in the back seems to have too sharp of a turn for the position of the foot. The shape of the foot is off and needs work in the area of the toes. The "mistake" that you mention is the blank breasts.
This is an excellently done drawing and you have a true talent. I would expect to see this work on a printed page if those small errors were fixed. Your perspective seems to be dead on track and the attention to the shadowing is excellent.
Thanks, your the first person that actually gave me a sensible criticism. Actually, the lady used to have nipples on a seperate paper. But everytime I ask for criticism, they get distracted with the breasts.
You really helped alot. :thanks:
