Odd little bug: My saves do not change order.
jasonblake replied to jasonblake's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
I figured out. In case someone runs into this issue, check your time on you computer. For whatever reason my clock went 2 days and 2 hours back so my new wizard saves were being filed between the saves that had been played within those 2 days and those old saves that haven't been touched in some time. Just fix your clock and all will be well. -
It seems that after I made a new character all my saves are stuck in the order of which they were before I made the new character. Make sense? I can't really explain it... Say the saves at the top of the list are of my warrior who I made about a week ago and below those are my new wizard's saves. Below them consist of random saves that need to be cleaned out. For some reason when I'm playing on my wizard guy, my saves do not get bumped to the top of the list as they should. At first I was thinking that the saves were corrupt and deleted but I later found them buried under all of my warrior's saves. I have tried making new saves, quicksaving, autosaving, everything within the game but no luck. I know it is not in any way a game-breaking issue but it is still a little irritating.

Yeah, I agree with you about Euphoria. That is one amazing engine but in the end, I do hope they make the both of us eat our words.

I Will Be Going To Bethesda Studios To Meet The Developers
jasonblake replied to stealtrecon's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
Thank you, Stealtrecon, for sharing your opportunity with the community. It may not seem like much to you but its a very self-less and noble way of turning your situation into something good. I hope only the best fortune for you. My first and foremost request for Bethesda would be more realistic movements of both players/NPCs and vegetation/inanimate objects. Something like what they did with the Euphoria engine (see the video below if you are unfamiliar with the engine) . When you shoot or run someone down in GTA4, they react to the collision in a realistic manner whereas if you shoot someone in Oblivion, they may stagger a little but it feels more like punishment for being shot rather than consequence. As for inanimate objects/vegetation; I always enjoyed the dynamic vegetation in Crysis and Farcry 2. Some may argue that it may be unstable for such a large game but if Farcry 2- being the large open game that it is- can do it, then why not a game running on a newer engine? And let it not be limited to the plants; cloth and etc. as well. Another request would be the animations. I think everyone would agree that the jump animation was... s***. Lucky they're were a few mods on Nexus that made quick work of that eyesore but I don't recall any remedy for the strafing. The combat animations didn't bother me too much but they could have been better and some variety of style in TES5 would be appreciated. Being able to play with a couple of buddies would be amazing but I don't see this one happening. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3bKphYfUk-M -
Very nice! Sorry it has taken me so long to say so, my professors decided that they wanted to throw me into a gauntlet for a few days. I can't wait to try it out.

Jason's first PC build!
jasonblake replied to jasonblake's topic in Hardware and software discussion
CommanderCrazy, 100% hobby. There isn't much in my life that requires anything above the demands of Microsoft Word so pretty much the sole purpose of this rig is to keep me entertained. Thor., Very nice rig! It turns out my fossil of monitor doesn't have HDCP so the blu-ray player's potential is squandered away until I get a replacement. Hello, Tax-return! -
Well, my camera has gone missing and it took all my PC pictures along with it but I did manage to put a Youtube video up about an hour ago I haven't overclocked anything just yet unless you count the slight increase in the GPU department. Case: Antec 1200 Motherboard: GIGABYTE GA-790FXTA-UD5 CPU: AMD Phenom II X4 965 3.4 GHz Hard Drive: Western Digital 1TB 7.2k RPM GPU: SAPPHIRE Radeon HD 5770 950MHz/1.35GB RAM: G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 4GB Power Supply: CORSAIR 950w Disc drive: LG Black Blu-ray drive Keyboard: Salitek Cyborg Mouse: Coolermaster Sentinel Let me know what you think and I'll be sure to find my camera. :thanks:

About how long does it take to make a mod of this size. I'm not trying to rush you or anything- just asking out of curiosity. Will you be adding it to your WoW weapon project?

If had to choose out of the lot, it would be Leyawiin. It is by far the most well laid out city imo and it has plenty of great quests. Its funny though; seeing as how I visit Leyawiin far less than I do the others. Maybe that is just another reason I enjoy it so.

Thanks, guys. I have read the TweakGuide before but I must have over looked the bUseHardDriveCache bit. That cleared everything right up. Thanks again!

So, for the past day and a halfish I have been fiddling with my Oblivion.ini settings and for the most part, I'm quite pleased with the results. For the most part the game runs a bit smoother and everything but I'm compelled to push it further. As of now, I have everything just about where I want it but I seem to be having trouble finding those iPreloadSizeLimit and Multithreading sweet-spots. My goal is to reduce stuttering to a minimum and goes well up until I try to cast a spell or enter a city/building and Oblivion crashes. The only conclusion I can come to is that I'm using too much of my RAM. Any thoughts? Here is my PC specs, some mods I use and some of my .ini settings. Computer: CPU- AMD 965 clocked at 3.4GHz RAM- G.Skill 'something-something-something' 4GB GPU- ATI 5770 clocked at 900MHz and 1350MHz memory Playing at 1280x1024 in V.Sync (I don't notice a difference performance wise- off or on) .ini settings: iPreloadSizeLimit=262144000 uInterior Cell Buffer=32 uExterior Cell Buffer=144 bUseThreadedBlood=1 bUseThreadedMorpher=1 bUseThreadedTempEffects=1 bUseThreadedParticleSystem=1 bUseMultiThreadedTrees=1 bUseMultiThreadedFaceGen=1 iNumHavokThreads=5 iThreads=9 iOpenMPLevel=10 uGridsToLoad=7 If I left out any you find vital to help find a remedy, let me know Mods: I don't use many so I'll just list the ones that could be having an impact my performance. OOO Qarl's Textures Unofficial Oblivion patch Mida's Magic Deadly Reflex COBL Natural Environments In a nut-shell, I'm trying to make Oblivion run as smooth as possible while looking great but I just can't quite get it. Any Suggestions? Thank you for taking the time to read my post.

I realize that most modders like more original ideas but who can deny the awesomeness of The Bulwark of Azzinoth? I mean look at it... The very sight of it makes me want to hit things, watch ESPN and do other man stuff. Now, I have seen some pretty nice shields from both Bethesda and the Nexus community but I just haven't found one that says 'my spit alone can beat you up'. My only requests other than the shield itself is for the creator to have fun making it and if you plan on making it SoB compatible, could you have it tilted like it is in WoW? Thank you, everyone, for taking the time to read my post. http://i.thottbot.com/ss/o/29298.jpg http://i.thottbot.com/ss/o/29299.jpg http://i.thottbot.com/ss/o/48557.jpg :thanks:

How do you all put up with this game?
jasonblake replied to VergilPrime's topic in Fallout 3's Discussion
Wow, thats horrible. I know Oblivion, Fallout3 and Bethesda's other games are notroious for their bugs and glitches but wow... I've never exprieneced anything that bad. Sure, the game crashes on me every now and then but I just Ctrl+Alt+Delete then reload. My cousin on the other hand had nearly as much luck as you. He rented it for his 360 and got stuck outside BoS becuase of Dr. Li being a dumb ***** (those are his words not mine =P). -
Wow, too funny. Thanks for me telling about that.

Well I was messing around in Anvil when I stumbled into the tavren. As I stood there in the cold lifeless room, I couldn't help but feel that something was missing. I walked back outside where I saw Tie-Ropes-Faster ( or whatever it is) and hes buddy sparring on the walkway and the idea hit me!. "The tarvens need to be more like taverns!", I thought. My imagination ran wild with ideas such as random fights amoungst the NPCs (not to the death), shady fellows sitting in dark corners, and Card games. Now any novice modder such as myself can make NPCs fight or shady fellows sitting in dark corners... sit in their corners but making something such as a poker game is abit out of my league. Though I may not be to make this mod myself, I figure I should throw out some ideas to spark someone's interest. -Have it so that when you walk up to the playing table, the others are already playing( or atleast look like they are) and when you have a seat, you are given a choice between a few games such as poker, black jack and prehaps even a friendly game of go-fish. -Gambling. Enough said. -A few animations of the PC and NPCs throwing in their bets, sorting their cards, or taking a drink. -Have a few choices between decks. Some people may like a fresh deck, others may want worn vintage cards. Some* may want cards with naked ladies on them. Well thats my idea and I'd like to thank you for taking the time to read it. Thanks. *When I say Some, I mean Everyone.

Well I made a 'wizard' like character who is wearing a cape that is taking up the tail slot and I like the weapon that im already weilding. I tried taking the .nif of a staff and put it on a quiver but it came out upside down and thats about as far as my skills go when it comes to things like this... So if someone could make a staff that reaplaces the quiver slot or better yet give me some advice that would be awsome and if their is something like this already out just let me know. Thanks Edit:It doesnt have to be functional. I just wanted a staff on my back.

Hey, While you're at it, could you make a Fishing cape? I got to 99 fishing one summer awhile back then quit about a week later. It would be kinda cool to have one that has some detail opposed to that blue and yellow blur I grinded hours on in for... :thanks:

New to Vista- need advice on a few things.
jasonblake replied to jasonblake's topic in Oblivion's Mod troubleshooting
Thanks for the help everyone. Every thing seems to be running fine now. -
I have a bit of experience with Oblivion/Fallout3 mods but yesterday I bought a new computer and know next to nothing about the changes in Vista. I installed Oblivion with no problem but when I tried to add a few of my favorite mods my luck turned around. I searched for some answers and fought a few people saying that if you're running Vista you have to install the game in a seprate C file to avoid Vista's notorious security BS. If this is true could someone give me a heads-up? Also is their a differnt way that Im supposed to be installing the mods? Thanks.
