  1. Whenever I do the quest Pieces of the Past I usually kill Silus Vesuius in order to gain Mehrunes' Razor and steal his remaining relics for the Dragonborn Gallery mod. It occured to me that the museum would make a good player home in Dawnstar or at least a home for one of my many followers.
  2. To be honest I don't think I would trust the Penitus Oculatus not a put the key to their cell in their food then later say "Oh no. The prisoners escaped. How did this happen?". Absorbing them into the Penitus Oculatus wouldn't work either because the Empire has to deal with representatives of the Thalmor. Imagine a Thalmor agent seeing Delphine in her new armor. It would be a repeat of a city guard's lines when they come to arrest the player. "Wait a minute. I know you." "There's no mistake, you're a wanted woman." "You've committed crimes against the Aldermeri Dominion. What say you in your defense?" We have to remember that when the Empire signed the treaty to end the Great War and ban Talos worship, the Empire would officially ban Talos worship and close down churches dedicated to Talos but unofficially they didn't care if people chose to worship Talos at a small shrine in their basement. We see the Thalmor in Skyrim because they knew the Empire was turning a blind eye to some Talos worshipping in their backyard. I only suggested handing over the remaining Blades to the Thalmor because it was a more evil option. Handing them to the Penitus Oculatus wouldn't have the same kind of impact.
  3. I would recommend Conquest of Skyrim but I would only run it if I plan to finish a current playthrough.
  4. To be honest I share your disdain for force greets and it got worse in Fallout 4 with Preston Garvey. I had to run a good distance away from him so that he wouldn't give me another settlement to defend quest to the back log of settlement defense quests. But to be fair there is no urgency to do these quests and if you hate the quest givers that much there are ways you can $*@# them over. Eltrys will die in the middle of the Forsworn Conspiracy, you can kill Sapphire when you offer to help Shadr with his debt and you can kill the Alik'r during the quest In My Time Of Need. Other characters like Brynjolf and Maul would require you to remove their essential tags with console commands or use a mod like Conquest of Skyrim which will allow you take over Skyrim and execute anyone you don't like ( I always use that one when I wanted to teach Maven Black Briar a lesson).
  5. I know that many people share my disdain of Delphine for good reason but I wanted to suggest something new. I've already ran the Paarthurnax Dilemma mod which puts Delphine in her place many times in past playthroughs but I found it more satisfying to simply remove her and Esbern's essential tags with console commands and kill them after the main quest is over. I thought it was time to change things up a bit. While I'm not a fan of the Thalmor I'm even less of a Delphine fan and the only reason I'm targeted by the Thalmor is my association with the Blades. It was high time that the Blades were finally put to rest and the organisation is nothing more than a failure especially after they failed to keep the last Septim emperor and his family safe in Oblivion. This can be done in a number of ways, the player can give their location to the Thalmor for a small reward or kill them personally and collect their heads to give to the Thalmor, receive a higher reward and an end to the Thalmor hit squads (at least until the player starts killing Thalmor patrols escorting Talos worshippers). When I last killed Delphine, the barkeeper at the Sleeping Giant Inn Orgnar would refuse to serve me and tell me to get out. It would be interesting to throw him into the mix as a Blades conspirator and put in a replacement barkeeper.
  6. I don't have any of those mods that you mentioned, in fact my mod list in this playthrough is the same as my last playthrough and I never had any problems with followers losing their gear back then.
  7. Thanks for the feedback, everyone. I've just noticed that vanilla followers are losing their gear. Just recently I did Mjoll's quest to retrieve her lost sword from the Dwemer ruin and gave it back to her. When I took her on as a follower later I found that her sword was now missing. The only followers that would keep their clothes on are Serana with the add on mod and Potema. In Potema's case I used the outfit option from Nether's Follower Framework. Other followers like Inigo and Kaidan, well I'll just have to do their quests with them in their birthday suits. What I've started doing now is leaving two sets of armor and weapons in storage at a follower's home location. When I get started on the Dragonborn DLC I'll pick up the perk that gives me a Daedra butler and have him carry a set of armor and weapons for any followers in my party if they lose their gear after loading a game when I suffer the inevitable ctd.
  8. Thanks for the heads up on these mods you mentioned but I've got to ask if they're safe to use on followers with their own custom voices, quests and framework. As for your comment on followers reverting back to their original outfits when relaxing at a home location, I was already aware of that and never had a problem with it. What I do have a problem with is my followers who were outfitted with armor and weapons I gave them are now losing their gear whenever I load a save with them as my followers. Now I have to remove their items before I make a save. Some followers are even losing their gear whenever I fast travel or enter another cell.
  9. I've installed Nether's Follower Framework but I try to avoid using it on followers with their own quests and custom voices. And yes I'm using the latest version of Skyrim and most of my SKSE mods have been updated, otherwise I wouldn't have started a new playthrough. Only difference this time is that I'm using Open Animation Replacer instead of Dynamic Animation Replacer because the author takes a long time to update it.
  10. I know this isn't the best place to put up this topic, on the old website I would have put this in the troubleshooting or general discussion posts but suffice to say I find this redesign of the website to be unnecessary while the old website was perfect for our needs. OK, rant about the website over. Onto the main topic now. I've been on a new playthrough after the last Bethesda update and I've been noticing the same problem all over the place. Follower mods are reverting back to their original armor and weapons upon loading a save where they were equipped with items I've crafted and enchanted for them. I've haven't come across this problem until now. So far I've noticed it with followers I've always used like Kaidan, Lucien, Faye and Mirai. I'm sure there are more follower mods with this problem if anyone wants to give us a heads up. I've noticed that Bethesda have done more than add another paid mod to their Creation Club. I've noticed things like npc's displaying both their ref and base ids when clicking on them in console mode and the help command now requiring a 0 at the end. It seems that after the failure of Starfailed (yes, that's what I'm calling that game now) Bethesda needed some quick money and returned to their Skyrim cash cow after some modder sold their soul and mod to Bethesda. However with these problems occurring I'm unsure if this is the usual Bethesda incompetence where their updates bring back old bugs or if this some kind of campaign to put an end to free mods.
  11. Thanks for the console command. I'll just use this whenever I get this quest until someone takes up this request.
  12. I've just started playing through the vampire side in the Dawnguard DLC for the first time as my character just wants to be immortal. I can accept the fact that the Dawnguard have declared me an enemy and that I have to kill them for my own and Serana's survival. I don't mind the majority of radiant quests I'm asked to do on behalf of the Volkihar vampires but being asked to kill an innocent civilian in each hold in order to frame the Dawnguard has never sat well with me. Since the game doesn't allow me to refuse the mission I'm left with a quest I don't want to follow up on in my journal. If everyone who is declared a target is someone like Nazeem or Delphine I would have no problem but a lot of these characters are likeable and also function as merchants I would like to keep around. Is there any chance that someone can make a mod that removes this radiant quest so that good karma vampires can sleep easier in their coffins?
  13. To be honest it's not just the elves that look particularly ugly in vanilla Skyrim it's every npc in the game. I can guess that Bethesda wanted to create characters that have no access to the beauty products that we are all familiar with in our world but even characters like Elisif who is supposed to be a young woman aged 20 looks like someone in their 40s.
  14. One thing I've always hated is being stuck with Synth Shaun at the end of the game. At least with the Brotherhood and Minutemen endings I can choose to let Synth Shaun burn in the Institute's destruction and the Railroad is happy to take him off my hands but there is no option in an Institute ending. As Director of the Institute I don't have to honor Father's final request and decide it would be more humane to have him shut down. We even hear some Institute scientists questioning the morality of creating a child synth that will never grow up. And if I being honest my Sole Survivor would see Synth Shaun as a reminder of what he has lost and not a chance to be a father to Shaun again. When we meet Father for the first time we hear the shutdown code for Synth Shaun but there is no option to shut down Synth Shaun ourselves and no voiced dialogue we can use. The only workaround I can see is creating an Institute npc that will shut down Synth Shaun on our behalf and put him in the incinerator.
  15. I said we would be here again in a month's time with another update and I was right. And what was this update for? One lousy texture fix to the Dawnstar museum. I'm just glad I'm holding off from installing Skyrim at the moment.
  16. Because this game was stable for a good while.
  17. Until we're back in this situation again next month.
  18. I have every right to be pissed off at Bethesda over this. I paid money for a product that no longer works. This is not just another hiccup that will resolve itself in a day. First we got to wait on SKSE getting updated, then we got to wait for mods that use SKSE to be updated again. I would hate to be a mod author right now trying to update a mod only for another patch from Bethesda in a month's time that wrecks everything again. I would not blame the mod authors if they eventually say "#@!% it. I can't keep up with this." Let's not forget that this is a game that is 10 years old with bugs that Bethesda could not be bothered to fix and was only sorted by modders. Now we have to wait on things like the Unofficial Skyrim patch to be updated for the millionth time. Let's not forget that Bethesda tried to sell the idea of the Creation Club to mod authors "We'll buy your mod for $200 and make sure it's looked over by our QA team and iron out the bugs" Well guess what, it's still riddled with bugs. Besides most of the content is just read a note from an npc because they couldn't be bothered to add voiced dialogue and go to location x, kill enemy z, loot, read another note, rinse and repeat x4, end of quest, enjoy your new horse armour. As I said the best thing would have been to leave Special Edition alone and made a seperate Anniversary Edition with the Creation Club content for all the Bethesda Simps.
  19. "If Bethesda ever does remove modding from their future games, it won't be because of money, it will be because they're sick of dealing with people like that." Why? Are you going to tell on us to Daddy Todd?
  20. I know Bethesda can be stupid but do you really think they would further antagonise the modding community which is the only thing that keeps their games relevant after so many years?
  21. F$#!!ing Bethesda have done it again. Just when I thought it was safe to reinstall Skyrim I was able to run a few mods except for some still waiting for an update we get get another bloody update from Bugthesda. Managed to play for a few days till I got that message telling me that SKSE is out of date again just for some minor fixes to their crappy Creation Content that I have no interest in purchasing the bundle for. If this is how things are going to be then we should get two free CC content for every update Bethesda releases but at this rate they might have to release all the CC content for free. Not interested in Survival mode. Actively avoided Saints and Seducers because it makes bandits spawn inside cities killing some npcs but the quest still starts when travelling from Dawnstar to Winterhold. Curious Curiosities is just some random clutter and fishing in Skyrim reminds me why I don't do it in real life ... IT'S BLOODY BORING! When I first heard of Skyrim Anniversary edition I thought it was going to be another re-release of Skyrim in order to make up for the money that Fallout 76 lost. I wish that was the case because we would not be having these problems. Now I'm going to uninstall Skyrim again but this time I'll stay away for a few months instead of one. Time to reinstall Fallout 4 for Sim Settlements Chapter 2 and hope I don't see an Anniversary version for that game.
  22. I've just downloaded the latest version of SKSE that came out today. Launched the game from the skse loader got to the main menu and tried to load a save then I got the black screen that everyone with a modded Skyrim is getting right now. Days and hours spent on my current playthrough, got to level 49 and now I'm planning to uninstall Skyrim and wait until this gets fixed and the mods that I use get updated (if the mod authors haven't moved on to other games). Thanks a lot, Todd. :verymad:
  23. Is anyone here having a problem downloading any old mods just now? I've been trying to download DX Emfy Cleric Outfit which was last updated in 2019 and it's been downloading at a snail's pace until Vortex just gives up on it and times out. Tried manually downloading but got the same result and tried another mod which came out years ago with no success. Tried downloading a mod which came out today and that was fine and also downloaded an old Fallout 4 mod which downloaded in seconds. I'm not a premium member with faster download speeds but a 109 MB mod should not take the best part of an hour. If nothing else I hope that the Admins see this post and are aware of the problem.
  24. I've just encountered this in my current playthrough. The last time I did an Institute playthrough I got the usual comments from companions over an Institute victory and the Synths in Diamond City. This time however, I decided not to kill the Railroad when ordered by Father. Instead I played the Railroad route up to the point where the Brotherhood attacked their HQ and used them to take out the Brotherhood. Afterwards I returned to Railroad HQ and killed everyone and returned to the Institute to have that last conversation with Shaun and got the end credits. Going to Diamond City there I also see no winning faction or Institute victory comments from the companions. When players destroy the Brotherhood on the Railroad side there is dialogue from the player about using the Railroad as an means to an end during a conversation with Preston. It seems that Bethesda allowed players to do this but didn't implement it well.
