  1. One of the pinned topics reads : !!THIS FORUM IS NOT FOR MOD REQUESTS!!

Odd. His post looks more like a question regarding what the mod was as opposed to a request. But hey after 1k posts I guess you can just treat people however you want to treat them without reading anything they ask...

The mod he was asking for cannot be found because I am pretty sure the author doesn't want to release it. Not trying to be rude, just saying what he is looking for probably doesn't exist.

He probably didn't understand that, given his post count its plausible that hes relatively new and doesn't understand that not everyone uploads the mods they make for themselves.

More importantly, some authors are pretty vague about their armor descriptions, I have spent a few hours searching for and finding armors I saw in the image section. Even when they are not vague, it took me quite a while to find that the armor used in the Magicka sabers mod was in fact the improved eisen armor.

Also something to consider, a lot of people on the nexus will rip (steal) content from other games and post screens of it on their character for all to see. I don't know about the one TC is asking for, but chances are if this is the case it is out there but not on the nexus. I do not advocate you download stolen property though.

Yep yep, so true. Lots of rip sites around.

  2. I just made an account on this site to be able to download the mods, but when i try to activate one through nexus mod manager and run it, both on normal or custom option, the mod doesen't work when in game. is there something ive done wrong?

Yes and no, you need to go into the mod manager settings and make sure your mods are being sent to where the game is. So if you are running the steam version, make sure its going through your program files/steam/steamapps/common/skyrim as opposed to mydocuments/games/etc..

I remember having that problem with fallout when I first used FOMM. Post back if that doesn't fix it.

Below is the contents of the thread you so rudely posted above. It states that threads in this section should pertain to mods YOU are working on OR mods that ALREADY exist. Since he is referring to a mod already in existence, I think he's golden to ask questions here.

"Friendly reminder, threads in this section should be something related to a mod that YOU are trying to work on, or ALREADY exists.

The Mod Requests section is for suggesting mods which may not yet exist, or for talking about mod ideas that you do not have any plans on making yourself.

Mod Detectives thread will be created when it makes any sense to."

  5. Hello,

So, I now have enough mods to completely push Daedric off of my blacksmith forge menu... Is there a mod that changes/streamlines the blacksmithing menus? I tried SkyUI + some others and nothing is helping me. I tried searching Nexus file search and the forums. Does anyone have any ideas?

    Thanks,

    Cactus

  6. Deadly Dragons makes dragons something to be feared instead of just a bump on the road for anything to kill.

i dont quite get Deadly dragons. if you want harder dragons play in master ancient dragons will do 600+ damage in one fire/ice breath with no magic resist. no mod needed

In master, I used to kill ancient dragons in 2 to 3 shots, less if I get sneak shots off. Plus with my enchanted resists + legendary armor they couldn't hurt me fast enough. Usually they were dead before they hit the ground to breath on me.

The reality is, with how well you can equip yourself using blacksmith/enchanting, no mob in the game really stands a chance without mods. Any other skill tree is rendered useless as if you have a sword that does 700 damage a hit, or a bow that does 1000 dmg a shot, you don't ever need a perk in the tree to instant kill things. I have no points in One-Handed Weapons and I can 2-3 shot anything at 48 One Handed with a 250+ dmg dagger.

With mods however, now I can be killed in 2 to 3 hits which balances out the games natural blacksmithing/enchanting OPness. So while I can still take on dragons pretty easy, if something comes up behind me or I am not aware of my surroundings a troll/bear/dog can take a relatively straight forward hit and hide dragon fight to a strategic nightmare.

I anticipate, once my archery reaches 100, my bow should reach about 1200 dmg with fortify archery pots.

  7. Some mods to get you started:

    Deadly dragons

    PISE

    Immersive hud - iHUD

Cowardly horses (prevents your horse from being your tank)

Also, do a google search to figure out how to make 37% Enchanting pots. It's time consuming, but worth it. That same tutorial should also teach you how to make the legendary weapons that do insane damage. If you use deadly dragons on its hardest difficulty + master, it might be worth it. Or eventually trying on a new char.

Easiest way I found to level enchanting was to find a weapon that filled soul stones.

  8. I leveled enchanting and blacksmithing first. Was a pain on master but I wanted to be able to enchant and make deadric weapons/dragon armor. (Plus difficulty mods would balance out 2 hit kills with 1 hit deaths.) The result is a legendary deadric bow with Lightning + Frost damage and dragon armor with 48% Sneak & 48% Archery enchants galor using 37% enchanting potions.

Just keep in mind, doing it this way will result in the game play sticking to extremes. IE, no one will ever see you sneaking, no one will ever fight back once you sneak strike once. So you really have to up the difficulty and use mods to balance out the power problems.

  9. I agree. It's like the guards know all about your exploits through rumors, but if you try to seek any validation from anyone else who would hear these rumors first hand or have inside information, you are forgotten about. You'd figure there would be something said or questioned regarding your return from your final venture by the Jarl or his court.

I basically just get far enough in the MQ to get most of the shouts and access to dragons, then focus on the rest of the game. I too was let down by the abrupt end and lame final fight. I mean for most of the fight the NPC's take care of the dragon for you.

  10. I am confused. I downloaded the CK, played with it, altered some of my mods to make them more balanced but... I don't understand how downloading the CK affects your current game. It kind of sounds like some of your mods might be out of date or conflicting somehow.

I've experienced no new problems. I rarely experience any problems actually.

Edit: read your second post more carefully... that is weird, I dunno.

  11. steam workshop got 2 million mod downloads in 3 days, i say steamworks is rather successful.

Success is relative. They were basically garuanteed a few million downloads because Skyrim digital is steam distributed. Its a no-brainer, especially for people who are not into the modding scene or have never experienced the game without modifying it greatly.

A real measurment of success will be in the coming months/later this year when modders make decisions as to whether or not they will continue to put up with the frustrations of the community and tools they have access to, as well as the consumer who is looking for a hassel free product.

Personally, I find the Nexus Mod Manager far less confusing than Steam's system.

  12. To be honest, I have felt that the Steam community had very high expectations from the Workshop and even higher expectations that the mod authors would be able to package their mods in a Steam workshop friendly manner perfectly. When this turned out to be not the case, they seem to have become extremely hostile to the mod authors accusing them a variety of things including being stupid, lazy and even deliberately trying to make Steam Workshop fail and recruit more Nexusites. It is a little strange to find an environment so strangely hostile to the contributors and so oddly paranoid about a site they should really be looking to for inspiration rather than confontation.

I am just very curious as to the outcry that will occur when they realise some mods will require load order manipulation and that will require a new tool. My guess is they will demand mod authors stop making mods that are load order sensitive.

Makes me appreciate Nexus all the more. *BIG HUG TIME*

This, I have been shocked regarding many of the comments I have read on that website. Few of them make much sense and many of them are angry and not constructive. More to the point, I find their system of locating mods less intuitive than Nexus and their community to be overall filth. Which is a shame, because I am a huge steam advocate. All of my games are on Steam (unfortunately a few are on Origin, but only exclusives like BF3) as I have no cd drives and everything I do is streamed. Therefore Steam is very convenient, however, I feel the Steam workshop does a better job of offending me by attacking modders who have done exceptional work. So I have little interest in using Steamworks.

  13. I find it puzzling that so many people choose to mod their characters to make them look anime-esque.

Each to their own, I'm certainly not criticizing people's actual freedom to choose how they wish to play their game, I'm simply curious as to why anime looking characters are so popular when Skyrim and TES in general are so drastically different in tone and structure from anime.

I'm not sure if androgynous men in billowy white cloaks and rabid frost trolls were ever meant to meet.....

Surely people are missing the point? Let me reiterate that I am not questioning the concept of freedom of choice just the merits of one particular style of playing.

Because that is what they are interested in. It's why I have mods that make my game drastically harder, but I have a girl char with an OP blacksmithed Deadric bow running around in a legendary skimpy fur outfit... Its what I am into... you know, on the weekends. :P

I also like Star Wars, the minute someone creates a lightsaber for Skyrim it is ON LIKE M*F* DONKEY KONG!!!! Then I am gonna run around with the UNP leah outfit on and a lightsaber... on the weekends.

Edit: Just did a search, found a lightsaber mod. Read above.

  14. (Since I can't read, none of the below retains to what you want, but will give you great places to research medium to high end, long term laptops. Sorry).

MSI G series. Go check them out, I am going to buy one when I have the money. Clevo/Sager (saiger?) is another really good option.

I spent $1500 on a custom rig, I7-2600k, MSI v 570GTX, MSI MB, 8gig ram, run everything on ultra, etc. Basically, for $1,500 I can get roughly the same stuff in laptop form from them. They have a $1,300 option... They have awesome cooling from what I have read, but I have no personal experience with one. Although MSI is the only product on the market that has been 100% for me so I will be heading that route (17inch laptop) as I merge my GF and a child into my home and slowly lose my 54" plasma gaming rig (main room) to them...

These are not dells or alienwares or hp's. They are barebones machines that are typically designed for our purposes. Also, I think MSI has some of the best out of laptop sound on the market (but that is all hearsay, cause I haven't tested/heard it).

Check out Xoticpc or power pro laptops too. You need not look further really unless you are looking for something under $1k.

  15. Bumping this thread because I am having similar issues. I crash every time I try to go through Megaton gate and every time I try to enter the supermarket. I risk crashing every time I load a new area.

I have the clubhouse (same as OP), Type 3 mod + various clothing sets and some small weapon mods, + http://www.fileplanet.com/fileblog/archive...ntry_1510.shtml a lot of the stuff from the version 2 and 3 pack of this combination; including Enclave commander. I am a total newb to modding btw.

I am running steam, so I am assuming I have 1.5. I tried to use the FO3.exe but I don't know if I set it up right. I renamed it to MasterUpdate, but is there something else I need to do?

EDIT: If you have something to add here, please do, however I have already erased everything and am re-downloading the game...again.
