Buying the squad size update should give you the seventh slot immediately. Are you sure you don't have it? The squad selection window only fits 6 slots, but there are left and right arrows next to the slots that scroll the view. Scroll left and you should see another slot available. Scroll right and you will see another slot that is marked as unavailable. You will get that one when you purchase squad size II.

When I played last year, I remember changing the 4 man limit on the covert extraction missions, but I can't remember where I found it. I have been searching google and these forums for some time without any luck. I am playing long war, but it should be the same as in vanilla EW. If anyone can point me in the right direction I will appreciate it. Thanks.

The notes for version 1.41 say: - Overhauled the skill trees of all classes to balance out the classes and solidify their roles. The readme doesn't provide any more information. What skills have been changed? That information is very important. Thanks for all your work on this mod.
