  1. Yeah I set my home as home for my followers too. Maybe he came to visit Aela... he was sitting in the chair in front of the bed -_- Man this guy isn't subtle.
  2. OK what I did now is take him as a follower and I told him the bee and barb is his home and then dismissed him lmao I guess I solved the problem but I'm sure people will get a laugh out of this - I know I did, although at first it was definitely creepy with him watching my bed =\ I feel bad for guests of the bee and barb
  3. HAHAHAH yes! Anyway as for companion yeah I did that ages ago up until the part where SPOILERS -- (____ dies and you get the _____ heads and then Aela is available as follower) but I haven't touched that storyline for quite a while! OMG this is so random lol
  4. Guys??? is this is a common glitch or something? OK so I moved into Honeyside, in Riften. It's a great place! good stuff, just hanging out with my follower, etc I go do some missions (non-brotherhood stuff), come back to my house, and VILKAS IS SITTING in a chair IN MY HOUSE!!! As if he's my follower! but without follower options, only the "follow me, i need your help" option. BTW he's never been my follower before... ever. How the HELL did he get to Riften and into my house, and how the HELL do I get him out? omg This is so crazy! I don't want him here it's weird lol
  5. Just wanted to know if anyone else is getting this? I have a many mods installed, yes, but I'm also very careful with them. My game runs quite smoothly, and I hardly ever get CTDs. In fact, the only place I ever get CTDs is in Whiterun hold, towards the west, once you start getting around the giant camps. It isn't an exact spot, but it only happens in that vicinity! I don't get it! If this is happening to others as well then maybe it's just some vanilla thing, so speak up! (also does anyone else see a mammoth basically shoot up into the sky and fall again randomly?) note for the clever people: I know and have read every CTD thread and guide so please don't refer me. I don't uninstall mods, I don't use NMM (trust me: MO), I tes5'd everything from the start, etc etc and it isn't a memory issue, I do use SSME, believe me I've tested loading 90 guards and 6 dragons at the same time in whiterun and the game didn't even crash but somehow I'm walking around in the fields near whiterun and boom I'm at my desktop. Also there's nothing in the papyrus logs that hints to why this happens.
  6. Hi everyone. I've read many threads and tutorials for reducing save game bloat, but I just have some very simple questions I haven't found the answer to if that's OK. Assuming there are little to no uninstalled mod issues in one's save game, from what I've read the biggest issue is hoarding items. I was wondering if these things I'm proposing would work to remove excessive items from one's game save entirely: - simply selling off a ton of items - does this work or will the game save them in the invisible merchant's chest? - put them in a dead body and open console and "markfordelete" that body. Will all the items automatically be removed from the game too? - placing them in non-safe containers. I haven't been able to find out how long it takes for an unsafe chest or some regular barrel out in Riverwood to respawn. Anyone know? I've tried to wait 20 days only to still find them there =\ - or... do I have to actually manually "markfordelete" like 200 baskets (don't ask) one at a time? If selling works that would seem the quickest and most practical.
  7. Thank you SO SO MUCH for explaining this, I've been going nuts trying to figure out what those codes mean in hopes of tracking down which mods are causing erros. ty. Just one question- I'm assuming that some of these "errors" are pretty much negligible? Since you said for example that the birds one can simplye be overlooked (which, by the way, is how I found this topic via google search on that script error).. although on mine it's coming from 00?? to be exact: (000BCD35)].Sound.Play() - "<native>" Line ? [ (0010C334)].FXBirdFleeSCRIPT.OnCellAttach() - "FXBirdFleeSCRIPT.psc" Line 21
  8. Hi everyone I've been checking my Papyrus logs and I keep finding a certain line that I can't really explain the origin of: [02/16/2014 - 07:48:20PM] error: File "Dawnguard.esm" does not exist or is not currently loaded. stack: <unknown self>.Game.GetFormFromFile() - "<native>" Line ? [TweakDawnGuard (23033CF8)].tweakdawnguardscript.OnGameLoaded() - "TweakDawnGuardScript.psc" Line 240 [TweakMonitorPlayer (2302CBB1)].tweakmonitorplayerscript.OnGameLoaded() - "TweakMonitorPlayerScript.psc" Line 137 [TweakMonitorPlayer (2302CBB1)].tweakmonitorplayerscript.OnUpdate() - "TweakMonitorPlayerScript.psc" Line 215 PLEASE BEFORE YOU SAY I'M STUPID: I know I don't have have the Dawnguard DLC, but I've been modding Skyrim for a long time so I know what I'm doing and I would never select a mod that requires it. I use Mod Organizer, BOSS, all the recommended tools, and I always check load order, as well as the individual Nexus sites of the mods. This line really shouldn't be in there... If someone could explain to me a way that I can track down which mod is doing this or why, I would appreciate it. I don't know if this is causing the CTDs but it worries me nonetheless.
  9. I personally wouldnt suggest anything thats over 2k texures. There is a lot of ULTRA texture packs with 4k-6k. But you wont see any difference unless you stand right into the walls/stones anyway. 2k is good enough. I might seem like a huge downgrade when you see a download option of 6k next to it. But remember standard textures is like 512. Try with 2k, and if you have problems and CTD in huge open areas with 150 mobs and struggle with memory then go down to 1k on the landscape textures and work from there. Very good advice and I completely agree. I often run optimizer textures for some of the beautiful trees from the flore overhaul and such, because they're like 6k size! Just leave character faces alone and you're good.
  10. OK so I'm guessing the truth is that it's all over for me? I don't even want to start a new game anymore this is too sad I was having so much fun. Ty @ Drake for the helpful comment though. If I ever do play again someday I'll be extra careful about what I install.
  11. If it helps, the papyrus log contains about 1 million instances of this exact problem:
  12. Note: Yes, I've googled, searched the forums, read topics and discussions on the matter. I'm only posting as a last resort ok! I guess there comes a time where CTDs finally show up, but I'm just wondering -- The concensus seems to be that after a while mods and the save file have some issues, and I've recently disabled some mods. My question is: Should I just re-enable those ones? I mean I can live with them if that helps to do this without having to start a new game or to reinstall all my mods (80+)? Just hoping to hear if that would be recommended, or if it's actually the last thing I should do! Should I just re-enable mods I took out? Also note: yes I use BOSS and NMM and SKSE and everything. I've been running everything without problems up until recently! It was all going great with just as many mods =\ There was another suggestion to get a log file from the Papyrus in the .ini. I did that too but the log is a bit too complex for me to understand, so not much help there either. Thank you SO MUCH for taking the time to read this, regardless.
