  1. Sounds pretty cool, but Heljarchen Farm already has a meadery. I wanted a mill because Falkreath is a forest, full of trees, perfect for a lumber mill. There used to be a mod for Oldrim that let you build a mill across the lake from Lakeview, but the author has long since stopped supporting it, and I'm on SSE now, so can't really get it anymore. I could try porting it, but it had a lot of SKSE functionality that I'm afraid would get lost in translation with SKSE64. Too bad. It was actually one of my favorite mods.
  2. I appreciate that. It's not really that I'm looking for something economic. I like the immersion of having the player run businesses like Heljarchen Farm and Windstad Mine, and wanted something similar for Pinewatch just outside of Lakeview Manor. I don't care for the economic aspect of it that much. I like the expansion of functionality from the vanilla game. That's all. ^_^
  3. So, it's occurred to me that Pinewatch presents a pretty unique opportunity to finally have something expanded around Lakeview, much in the tradition of Heljarchen Farm and Windstad Mine. Both of these mods breathe a while new breath of life into their respective lands, but all Lakeview has ever had is a gaudy makeover that just adds way too much stuff and is not remotely lore friendly. I always wondered what sort of business would work for it, then it came to me. It's already right there. When doing the Thieves guild quest for Pinewatch, you learn the tenant is a woodsman. Falkreath is mostly a giant forest, so why not set up something for purchasing and building the Pinewatch property? Of course, the vanilla building should remain untouched, since it's a major guild quest location, or at least have minimal editing. But the land around it (expanding out from Lakeview, so as not to interfere with any Lakeview overhauls) is ripe for the picking. Make arrangements to build a small lumbering settlement around Pinewatch, like the WIndstad Mine and Heljarchen Farm mods. I lack the scripting knowledge this would require, but I'm sure someone out there could create such a mod, and it would make perfect sense, given the location. Then all three properties could finally have some sort of business attached to them for the player to run. Anyway, that's my idea, if anyone would like to take up this task. I am pretty decent at some aspects of modding, and would be happy to help out in any way I can if someone were willing to give it a shot. Happy gaming all!

  5. So, been looking through various mods and seeing a lot of them geared toward becoming a leader of some sort. One lets you become High King of Skyrim, some let you become a Jarl, a couple set you up to be a king among the Forsworn, and one even lets you go on to become Emperor. The one thing I haven't seen is a mod for an Orc character to become Chieftain of a stronghold, or to build and grow your own stronghold. I personally think this would make for a fascinating story and quest mod. While I lack the scripting skills to put it together, I'm decent enough in other areas to help out with it. If anyone out there has the ability to script events for such a mod and an interest in trying it out, we should talk. It's not some grand world changing mod or anything, but something fairly simple. Maybe even set something up to become somewhat of a chief among chiefs, more or less the leader of all the strongholds. Who knows? It would definitely be fun to work on and play through in my opinion though. I usually don't play Orcs because there isn't much geared toward them in the general sense of things, but something like this would definitely make me want to play one. If anyone out there thinks this would be fun to work on and has the skills to do so, then by all means, reply here or message me and let's talk about it.
  6. Yep. Trying to get some mods updated, but alas, nothing seems able to connect. If this were a once in a while problem it wouldb't be so furstrating, but it's not. It's an ALL THE TIME problem. For months now it seems like nothing wants to download and it often takes many, many attempts to finally get it. Hell, it's not even a daily problem. It's an every hour of every day issue. Doesn't seem to matter when I try it, I always have issues with downloading.
  7. I've looked at this in the CK myself, and I'd have to say it's beyond my skill at this point. Maybe when I become a little more familiar with the scripts used that will change, but for the time being I'm afraid I'd simply screw things up if I tried. It seems there are many variables in many scripts that have to be cross referenced to adjust the adoption cap, so it would cost even the most skilled modder/scripter time and effort, and I imagine a good bit of headache medicine to make it work. I'm not saying it can't be done, but it WILL take a very highly skilled and knowledgeable person with a good bit of time on his/her hands to see this mod brought to life. I would gladly be one of the first in line to download it if it happens, but I think it'll be a while before we get this mod due to the amount of work, patience, skill, and knowledge it will require to create.
