Same problem. I'm about 70 hours into a character without a single CTD or freeze. I walk into Falkreath, press M and CTD. Now, every time I try to open my map I get a CTD. I've tried every thing I can think of. I've looked online. Nothing has worked. I have no mods installed that change the map. All I have left to do is a complete reinstall which I want to avoid. Especially since I don't know the cause. :-(

So far, this applies to Sanctuary, Tenpines Bluff, Boston City Works Beacon, distress signal, and military frequency. They work when I'm in the area. Once I leave on foot or fast travel, it stops. I can't recruit for my settlements because of this. I've checked online, but I've only found one other person with this bug/glitch. Anyone have any ideas?

Donated to my favorite mod. Tried donating to another but he doesn't take donations. I'll be donating on a regular basis now as well as endorsing and doing what I can to be a part of the community rather that just downloading and playing like I was doing before. This controversy woke me up. The modders are no different than any of us. We like to be shown appreciation for our hard work and so do they.

I second Riverside Lodge. When I use a player home it is usually the one I go with due to its location. I've never had an issue with it either and there is a no dlc version.

This whole controversy opened my eyes to the necessity of being part of the community, which I wasn't, and supporting the modders, which I didn't. I just downloaded and played. I have started donating to the mods I love if the modder is accepting donations. At the very least, I endorse and leave a comment. I've found some great mods that are mostly unknown. Endorsing helps those kinds of mods.
