New to Modding Witch 3, some guidance please
osmodius replied to diamok's topic in The Witcher's The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt
Same here. I really want to do some texturing for this game but it's not like Skyrim. I can't figure out how to open these texture files. -
Osmodius. I don't have time to make new textures, but I do have my texture mods and some extra textures that are already made and never used still on my computer.

Ok, after extensive testing with several different textures in the game, I truly believe that Skyrim does not support parallax maps for textures other than on the glaciers. I have tried saving the parallax textures with all sorts of names ending with things like "parallax, _p, _parallax" but nothing has gotten a result. Am I doing something wrong or does the game not support it? And if not, is there someone who can perhaps edit the shaders in the game to support parallax mapping? Also, has anyone figured out how this "subsurface" effect works? And if its possible to utilize its effects for other textures?

Is there someone with the skills necessary to make this set for Oblivion? Here are references of the set. http://s1082.photobucket.com/albums/j370/Nirkana/Skyrim%20Elven%20Armor/

I just made a couple bump maps in blender and was wondering if its possible to take a normal map(bump map) made in Blender and get it onto an object in Oblivion? I have only just started using 3D modeling and I have hardly scratched the surface. I have Photoshop, Blender, and Nifskope with all the Nif scripts and such.

Yes I do actually, is that whats doing it??
-
Ahh I see, I wish I knew a bit more on how to do this, such as incorporating rewards and start points and such, but I dont know a damn thing about scripting haha.

Something weird I noticed earlier while playing Oblivion is that I can no longer change the fade options,(Actor fade, Object fade, Item fade, etc...) Anyone know how to fix this?
-
I don't know how far scripting can be taken in Oblivion, but is there a way to create a mini-game in Oblivion that is similar to the Zombies gametype of Call of Duty? The game works like this,(for those who dont know) There are an unlimited number of rounds and zombies, after each round there are more zombies and all have a bit more health than the ones of the previous round. There is no end to it except when you finally die, and you hold out in somewhat small areas. If someone was to incorporate something like this into oblivion, there could be a nice gold reward based on how many rounds you make it through. I know there is a zombie mod out right now that puts them in some of the cities and allows you build barriers using furniture and what not, but a mini-game that takes place in a certain small area similar to the Arena would be pretty damn awesome. Any thoughts on this?

So I was following this tutorial on the wiki - http://cs.elderscrolls.com/constwiki/index.php/WorldBuilding_101 and I got my map all pieced out into 16 cubes all named with the proper coordinates and file type and put it into my Heightfield folder which is in Oblivion/Data. All of that went smoothly, then when I make a new world space in the CS, and go to the Heightmap editor, the textures look real crappy and pixelated, and here is the link to a screenshot of that - http://s1082.photobu...HeightField.jpg If anyone can help me out here I would really appreciate it

Music in just one specific place?
osmodius replied to osmodius's topic in Oblivion's Mod troubleshooting
Ok thanks. -
I was just wondering if there is a way to have music play in just one specific area in Oblivion, maybe with a script or something? And are you allowed to use music from another game on a public Oblivion mod?

*Request* Morrowind Dialogue boxes for Oblivion?
osmodius replied to osmodius's topic in Oblivion's Mod Ideas
Ahh well that sucks. Oh well I guess i'll just have to wait, thanks for the reply though. =) -
I was wondering if theres a modder out there who can bring back the way dialogue worked in Morrowind and put it into oblivion, keeping the NPC voices of course. This will bypass the annoying face close up and potentially make voiceless quest NPCs(from mods) more enjoyable for me, as I hate NPCs that dont talk when you click on dialogue options. I would do this myself if I knew how but quite frankly I dont even know if its possible. This is all just a personal preference and it would be much appreciated if someone could pull this off.

I use QTP3 but even without it I had same issue, npcs drop me down by an average of 7fps each and in cities such as IC it can get pretty bad. Ive tried everything except playing while not connected to internet so ill try that now thanks.

Is there a mod that removes the generic(non-quest) Npcs that stand around the cities, because they really drop my fps down to about 20 and I dont like that at all, I keep my Npc fade at about half, I have a 2.8 GHz processor and 6GB of DDR3 RAM, and I run a Radeon HD 5750 Graphics card. Any tips other than removing the npcs myself?
