  1. Hello fellow modder's I am rather new here and would like to ask everyone for some help in finding out what skyrim uses for the dual wield functionality, (IE: scripting language or programming language,as well as the engine.) The Reason why I am asking is because I have taken it upon myself to see what can be done to port over that functionality to Fallout: New Vegas, as well as fixing or finding a solution for the aiming problem within FO:NV, and including the prone functionality from other popular games (MW3) with animations to show for it in 3rd person. The Partner Thread is @ here Inspiration for this endeavor is This (One Handed Crossbow by DOVAK11N).
  2. Basically, I'm asking for a much larger variety to the animations that happen when you swing a sword. Check out the request http://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/1034975-change-to-dual-wielding/ for more ideas that could be added on to this, if your up for it. Pm me if you begin as I'd be happy to lend a hand in any way I can (though I'm not "the BEST" modder) :wink:
  3. If anyone has seen the ESO footage of dual wielding, it will help to explain this. Basically, you swing both weapons while using the right hand attack. Attacking with both weapons would be different from the normal tap attack, by being able to move and having different animations. You can also block and still use the frenzy power attack, possibly with different animations. Does anyone think this idea would work? I'm not sure of the limits of making animations for swinging both weapons at once. (Sorry if I wasn't very clear, I'm terrible at explaining things)
  4. OK Hi there dear modders :cool: I love changing skyrim from something incomplete and wierd looking into something awesome, realistic and smooth, which lets gamers hearts skip a beat. I allready found some pretty good idle and running animations so I'm only missing the attack animations. Therefore I desperately need an animation for 2h weapons and dual wield. 2h: - I was thinking about (if possible) different animations for each weapon type, and maybe even for each weighclass. - Heavy swords would be swung like the slayer animation from "TERA", while katanas and less heavy swords more like a Samurai with stabs at standing heavy blows. - Axes and maces maybe like astaroth in soul calibur. dual wield: - Again I hope it is possible to differ between weapontypes. - Swords are basically not that bad, but there is some kind of break in the animation, when going from idle to attack and back. If that could be fixed = nice! - Axes and maces I would imagine something more abrupt. Maybe the attacks should be more like a down swing, while they are heavier in reality, and a fighter would make use of that fact. I appreciate any kind of reaction, and would love to get in touch with some talent at modding. Been looking and haven't found if it has already been made, I like dual wielding weapons but, was looking for a mod that I can equip a spell and a weapon in each hand using mouse buttons 1,2 for weapons and mouse buttons 3,4 for the spell in each hand and without putting away the weapons. It seems doable but I have no knowledge of making any type of mods
  6. This will be a mod that enhance Skyrim's customization by adding three new gamestyles : 2h + Magic 2h + 2h/1h 2h + Shield How ? This mod will change EVERY two handed weapon in the game into a one handed weapon while still leveling and benefitting from Two Handed skill The mod will detect what you are wielding and changes animations/grant attack speed penalties : 2h weapon + free hand : you'll use both hands to swing the weapon, this is identical to skyrim's 2h 2h weapon + spell : You can either swing your weapon with 2h or you can cast spell. Not both at same time like 1h + spell. 2h + 2h : You'll use each hand to swing a 2h weapon, causing an attack speed penalty, increased stamina consumption on power attacks and increased chance to stagger 2h + shield : same as above Thoughts ?
  7. I'm currently having a problem with unnecessary violence 2 and the grip-shifting feature. Whenever I try to use the grip-shifting feature, (which allows me to dual wield, use two handed weapons as one handed, one handed as two handeds, rotate the weapon, and wield in the opposite hand) something goes wrong. When I attempt to dual wield a one handed weapon as a two handed in the inventory menu it shows me doing it but then when I exit into the game my one handed weapon is sheathed in the one-handed sword holder and I pull an invisible weapon off my back as if I had a weapon there. The same thing happens when wielding a two handed weapon as a one handed weapon. The two handed goes into the two handed weapon sheathe and I pull nothing out of where the one-handed weapon sheathe is. If I try to wield a weapon in the opposite hand the game crashes. When I try to rotate a weapon. Does anyone know what the problem is? Here is my load order
  8. So when I attack with both mouse buttons at the same time while dual wielding my swords(maces,axes) turn upside down and point to the ground? Why is this? any existing animation fix? EDIT: JUst incase anyone else is going crazy because of that animation. Its not a bug It is a new DW animation from the mod New Dual Wield Animations.

Hello all, So after some looking around the mods, i noticed that some of them allow you to modify the way your gear is displayed For example Auto Unequip arrows, dual sheaths when dual wielding, and that one mod called armed to the teeth which displays everything and your grandmother. I am wondering how these mods go about doing this. Is it via script? Or somehow in the creation kit? I have been hunting though the creation kit for my answers and testing different things on the weapons (hide in backpack, changing animation types, changing weaptypes to axe since that's the node I want to display in), with no luck. I feel like it should just be simple enough to say "Hey you shield, display on my back node, or left 1h appear on my right side when sheathed." I am not really caring about any drawing animation (reaches back for the shield or left had reaches for the sword, etc) I am only concerned with getting these items to display. Where in the creation kit are the weapons assigned their nodes, and how do I affect them? Thanks
