From Ruined Estate to bustling crossroads town

I've seen a number of mods where you can build or rebuild a home, and I've seen other mods where you can own, build, or rebuild a town. Well, I think it would be great if a mod does a combination of those things.

The idea for mod is to have some ruined estate some where near a big crossroads. When you download this mod you could explore the location, or wait until you get a radiant quest that comes in one of two flavors:

Bounty Quest: You are given a bounty quest that has you killing a bandit leader, forsworn leader, hagraven, rogue mage, or blood or higher dragon. (location and level dependent.)

Rescue Quest: Rescue (friendly npc name) from bandit, forsworn, rogue mage lair.

Once you arrive, you have to kill all enemies including the boss. Afterwards, you find a book detailing the history of the estate, which goes all the way back to the time of Tiber Septim. The book also tells that it is rumored that Tiber Septim stayed here once himself. When opening the book you get an update in your quest journal telling you to speak to a contractor. The contractor tells you how much it would cost to repair the estate (depending on level) and even has options for upgrading it. The contractor also tells you that if you don't want the estate, the empire might have great interest in it due to it's history with Tiber Septim. Then you are given the option to bring the book to the attention of a historian at Castle Dour who is willing to obtain it from you for great reward.

If you decide to keep the estate, the basic estate should provide:

Bedroom (with plenty of storage

Armory

Living Area (with fireplace and cooking pot

Balcony

courtyard

basement

With all the upgrades it should include:

Kitchen with servant quarters

Barracks for guards

Banquet room

Training area

magic tower with alchemy and enchanting lab stations.

full smithing area

children's room

and possibly more.

Once you've been living there for awhile, you begin to get notices from people who want to move in with you. Lot's of people find it profitable because of the nearby crossroads. You'll have to speak to the

contractor again to a new additions to the estate. This can keep going until the estate becomes a full fledged town with::

A Blacksmith shop

A General Store,

An Inn/Tavern

A Divine Temple

A Stables

A Sawmill (depending on location)

A Grain mill (depending on location)

walls

and possibly more.

As your town grows, depending on the location, you can decide what is your towns exports are. You can also collected taxes from the townspeople. Finally, as the town grows certain events occur leading you to two quests.

1. Due to your estate's history with Tiber Septim, the rebuilding and expansion of the estate has drawn the attention of the Thalmor. One day you get word that the thalmor has infiltrated you town is attempting to agitate the people towards getting rid of you violently. You have to do an investigation which leads you to a local cave where the thalmor are getting ready for an uprising. However, a week after you defeat the Thalmor insurgents, the thalmor unleash a full attack on your town, forcing you to defend your people.

2. While preparing an area for building, the construction workers have come across an ancient ruin (either dwemer or nordic depending on the location). This has drawn the attention of many of the townsfolk who have since disappeared.

So that is the whole idea of the mod. Now my idea for the locations:

1. Near the crossroads northeast of Sunderstone gorge in the western part of Whiterun Hold

2. Near the crossroads south of dragon bridge, west of meeko's shack in the western part of Hjaalmarch.

3. Near the crossroads west of Fort Amol in the western part of Eastmarch

4. Near the crossroads southwest of Sarethi Farms, northeast of ruins of bthalft in the western part of The Rift

5. Near the crossroads southwest of silverdrift lair, northwest of Shrouded grove in the eastern part of The Pale.

The requirement needed to get the quest to rebuild the estate is that you are recognized as dragonborn by the people of skyrim. You can clear out the estate before this requirement is met and obtain the book, but you won't get the quest update needed to continue.
