Kodiak412
I have just returned to FONV and have loaded up a number of old mods that I had. Several of them have DOT (Damage Over Time) features. One is a poison mod and couple others have fire DOT on the ammo they created. Where in the GECK can you find the data input for these effects? For instance the poison causes 5 HP loss per second over 10 seconds. If I want to change the damage or time what steps in the GECK do I need to take to input these changes? The same thing with the ammo. I want the burn to be a higher damage, or just last longer, but I cannot find the path in the GECK to get to the screen where I can make these changes. Any help anyone can offer up will be greatly appreciated. Also do not worry about explaining it to me like I am a 2 year old. Even though I am 4 a simplified step by step explanation is appreciated. :)
Gribbleshnibit8
Well, just do a filter search for poison forms, and look at how they did it. You'll be looking for Object Effects and Actor Effects, and in those they have Effect Items which contain the magnitude and duration settings. So for something like the Bark Scorpion Poison effect, you'd find the BarkScorpionPoison Actor Effect. Open it and you'll see that it has 3 Effect Items listed, one for the Bark Scorpion Poison scripted effect, which plays the sound and shows the message that tells you you're poisoned, one for the actual poison damage effect, which has a magnitude of 5 (5 points of poison damage) and a duration of 30 seconds, and the third is the Perception reduction which takes away 2 Perception and lasts for 30 seconds. All of the poison and DoT effects are set up in a similar way.
Kodiak412
Thanks Gribble! I'll have to dig into that now that I have some idea. I never looked at Object Effects. Thanks again.
