TJwolf123
So, I'm reposting this from Reddit and the Vortex forum which I didn't know wouldn't help either. Here's my issue: I got my first ever VR headset recently, Oculus Quest 2, and I installed Vortex for my mods. (I am not looking for mod loading alternatives, thanks.) However, I did a dumb and installed all the mods into Vortex before even playing the game first. Though it would work on and off after disabling and enabling the mods in my load order, I also realized that a lot of mods that I had downloaded were specific to normal Skyrim and some just not being VR compatible in general. Though after getting rid of those mods and researching to see which ones are indeed compatible with Skyrim VR, my game is still not loading visually past the Bethesda screen and first loading screen, and is instead just playing audio of the waterfall, ambience, and the mods' notifications of loading. I have been able to get in and play a bit, but I would keep getting a notification from iNeed saying that SKSE was not found. My SKSE64 file, after manually reinstalling into Vortex (another dumb move) turned into a file called: "MoistGay". How? I have no idea, but it was reinstalled directly from the owner's site. I have since removed that and kept the VR version however, and after removing mods, installing some and reinstalling, I'm still not loading in. I have no idea what to do now, and need help. I made a PasteBin of all the mods I have installed and enabled. I just want to know if they're compatible with Skyrim VR, those that are SE, and if so, what do I do to make it work? And those that aren't, which ones do I uninstall? https://pastebin.com/uus3ixky
TJwolf123
Update!I disabled all of my mods, and my game is still not loading. I can hear everything, but nothing is visually loading. I definitely believe this is a Vortex issue.
Adventurer1111
Congrats on your Quest 2! I love mine and I love playing Skyrim VR unplugged. It is amazing! I always load my Skyrim VR mods manually just because Bethesda did not set up VR to be modded. I will load the mod into my SE version and then copy over the BSA/ESP to the SkyrimVR data file then I copy the mod name from SE (\AppData\Local\Skyrim Special Edition) into the VR plugins.txt file. What are you using to play Skryim on Quest 2? Is it AirLink or Virtual Desktop? You might want to try uninstalling the game completely and re-installing so you get a clean game from scratch. Get the game to work and then load 1 at a time. Here is a great tutorial to installing manually after you get the game to work. I hope you get it working...you will love it. Good Luck! TJwolf123
Thanks! Fortunately, I managed to figure out how to enable all the mods to work properly by slowly re-enabling each one I uninstalled. For some reason, SKSE VR is still not being detected by both iNeed and SkyUI which has me locked at the "Press Any Button" screen. Though I did pop into the game and test some things, which worked. Oddly, when I launch the game from the SKSE VR in my SteamApps Skyrim VR directory, it works fine. Edit: Forgot to say, I play using the link cable. It's very smooth and I don't mind the wire. TJwolf123
Update: I have finally found that my issue was not loading Skyrim VR via the SKSE VR executable. Instead, I had been playing from the Skyrim VR executable with the vortex mods attached. However, now I deal with the issue of a height glitch that won't reset even after adjusting the slider...
