Question about Vortex profiles.

I have created a new profile on Vortex with no problem. Here is what I am not sure about.

I start Fallout 4 through Steam big picture. How does it know which profile to load?

Also, I am planning on using some mods on the second profile that will probably conflict with the

mods on my first profile. Will this be a problem?

And lastly, I have some mods that I got from Bethesda.net, will they load with a new profile?

when you enable your new profile, hardlinks and settings for that profile's mods and config files are copied into the appropriate directories.

if you start the game, by whatever means, those mods are loaded.

if the mods from steam workshop are not controlled by vortex then it doesn't know, or care about them. they may get loaded, or may not - not sure - i never use steam workshop files for anything. you could put them under vortex management easily enough though, which would mean that they would be added/removed from profiles as required.
