Well, time for updates. I finished initial details and shape for the model. But still lots of work to be done. And if you guys have anything to say whether you know anything or nothing about modeling or mods in general, share your thoughts.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Lots of ugly and un-needed faces all over the place so that needs to be fixed. Plus, it took me a hell of a long time flipping normals before finding a better way of hunting them down! nyuk nyuk

I'm a total noob with modeling in 3d and even more on modding so, any advice or comment will be welcomed. :thumbsup:

 

I tried asking my girlfriend (who is a badass 3d modeler btw!) for advice, but she doesn't seem to understand Blender that much since they used a software called 3d Atelier. And organic models aren't really her thing. Oh well, guess I'm on my own for now.

I hate to sound like an idiot but what do you mean?

 

I completely forgot Gray Fox had a laser rifle mounted on his arm fighting Rex (correct me if I'm wrong) until I saw it yesterday.

So this seemed doable.Maybe I'll model that after I completely finish the helmet and get it to run in game or should I do that first? I don't know, what do you guys think?

Update! Not really, hehe. I just got exited after learning a wee bit on how to UV unwrap it on blender and texturing on photoshop.

 

 

 

 

 

Honestly, I think it looks like a creepy white clown with a grin who you'd wanna punch in the face if he wasn't wearing a metal helmet. :P

I guess I'll get back on making it badass again... :thumbsup:

Try to make the front of the face a little sharper, especially the nose piece. I mean that vertical black line under the red cyclop eye. Less of a butt-face, okay? :P

 

You could sharpen the edges between the other "skull plates" as well, but it's the front that stands out. Other than that, it's the coolest thing ever.

Time for some news...

 

I managed to fix it up a little, giving it a more 'evil' look. Then got it converted from blender into nif. Thanks BTW to all who made tutorials in fallout and oblivion, it really helped! :thanks:

My problem now is nifskope. It can't seem to grasp the thing. I had the texture selected, saved, tried to open it up, and nifscope can't seem to recognize it. Tried bypassing that and went over to dismemberment and... oh well. sigh

 

I'll try again tomorrow, I'm going through Jaysus's tut, hope that can help since the directions are a bit more in-depth than most. For now, here's what it looks like.

 

 

 

Now I rest my brain. I'll start again tomorrow. :thumbsup:

If you get really stuck PM Baelkin or Skree000, they know quite abit about handling Nifskope.

I wanna figure this stuff out as I go through. BUT let's say I get with no improvements for about hmmm two weeks maybe I'll ask around. Or maybe shorter if start crying. waha
