Cotes
First unzip somewhere, I'd suggest making a separate folder somewhere for this. If what appears is folder named "data", just copy it, go to the Fallout 3 folder and paste. It will ask about the existing data folder; Just press OK (or whatever you OS has for it), as well as for the folders under it that will be asked about as well (usually "textures" and/or "meshes"). However, if it asks you about replacing actual files, you should first make a back up of the specific sub-folder the files are located in. Just copy it and paste (result should be "'folder name ' copy", if not and it asks you whether to replace the original, just paste it elsewhere). The copied backup folder can stay where it is, it will be ignored as long as it has a different name. After making the back up, you can safely click "replace the old files" or such. Most mods will create their own files though. Sometimes there isn't "data" folder when you unpack the file, but folders called "textures", "meshes", "sound", etc., or/and file with .esp or .esm extension. Just copy all of them, go to data folder and paste. If something else appears when unpacked (usually various mesh and texture folders or .esp files), read the readme for instructions (should read it anyway, acutally). You can remove all the files outside Falllout 3 data folder afterwards, if you wish (personally I save the .rar/.zip files so I know what to remove if I wish to uninstall the mod later). To actually run the mods, open Fallout 3 launcher, click on data files and check the .esp or .esm files of the mods you wish to run (note that re-texture mods or similar ones that simply replace existing files don't often need this). Make sure the files stay checked by opening the "data files" again before clicking "play". If not, I download FOMM and launch the mods with it instead. You should also get ArchieveInvalidation Invalidated.
GreyViper
I recommend this program makes installing and uninstalling mods for Fallout3 fast and simple. http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=2411Wish I had something similar for Oblivion. :/
Smosh
Wish I had something similar for Oblivion. :/ Does OBMM not do the trick? http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=2097
GreyViper
Wish I had something similar for Oblivion. :/ Does OBMM not do the trick? http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=2097Not the same way as the Fallout 3 mod installer. Its good to manage mods, but not for installing mods.
