RichardMarx
I am wondering: what is the benefit of making a skill legendary?
anjenthedog
Afaik, skill leveling is the main way that player leveling progresses. But... eventually, you might run out of skills to acquire. When you do, while you may get tiny amounts of level up points incidentally from quests, you'll basically be the same level for a long time, if not effectively forever, since you're not getting lumps of level goodness every time you achieve some threshold in the chosen skill tree. So, if you have some personal goal of achieving level 100 (for instance), then deciding to switch to legendary resets your skill (in whichever skill tree you've chosen to make legendary), so that regaining those skills (ex: smithing from beginner on up) also helps increase your player level. At least that's how I think it works
RichardMarx
that explains why my character is at lvl81 for some time now..... or does it? Edited May 17, 2021 by RichardMarx
Shabdez
This should be the main reason, yes. Once you stop levelling your skills, you won't progress your character level. The maximum without using the legendary skill mechanics would be 81.
