Some face problems

Hey Nexus, I've never really ventured onto the forums before but I'm hoping you can help me with a problem I've been having.
So I have a vampire character. One day, seemingly out of nowhere, the "vampire" texture of his face (with the red slit and the paleness and etc) was replaced by the ordinary Altmer face texture. The mesh seems unchanged, though; I've tried curing and re-infecting the vampirism and there was a difference between the meshes, but even after re-infection he's kept the ordinary skin texture. It's been some time since this happened, so I don't remember what I may have installed at the time, but all of my vampire-altering mods were in place and working just fine before this happened.
So, I thought, why not just install a mod that has vampire face textures? I downloaded XCE Dawnguard and went on my merry way-- but nothing changed. I installed with NMM, I installed manually, I tweaked the .dds files in photoshop, but I got nothing. I thought, something must've bugged and he's using default elf texture assets. May as well download regular XCE to at least get rid of his horrendous neck seam. But, it turns out, that didn't show up at all. I soon learned that no custom textures, aside from eyes, will show up on this character. XCE works just fine on all of my other player characters...
I have a lot of mods, but I clean them up with TES5Edit and I don't have any that alter any body mesh or textures aside from XCE and a set of custom vampire eyes and glow maps made by myself, both of which were in place before this happened. Removing them has not helped. The only vampire-related mod I have is Brehanin's Better Vampires, which was also in place just fine before this happened.
