My very first Model

Ok, so this really doesn't have anything to do with Oblivion, but still, my intentions are to start making mods for Oblivion.

So I'm starting off with some easy stuff. So what do you guys think of my uber snowman? =D lol

Looks a bit heavy on vertices on the main body. You have to keep in mind, that, while modeling for games, you have to find a balance between performance and appearance. Some modders create very complex meshes looking great and all, but forgetting that many players run dozens of mods or play on slower machines. This results in even more performance issues. So, if you want your models to be enjoyed by the widest audience, you have to keep vertices at a moderate level, especially for quite basic shapes.

Yeah, I'm learning very basic stuff like this.

Looking for Tutorials for making meshes, anyone know of any good video tutorials?

I've looked on YouTube, they only have low quality videos, I want good quality so I can see what it says on what the person clicks on and does.

I think we all have experienced that, looking at a tutorial and not being able to see what button he's pressing, lol...

In that case you have to learn the handling of the interface first going step by step through Blender 3D: noob to pro. Then, when you've mastered the UI, it's much easier to follow the blurred video-tutorials on youtube. For most stuff you need to know it's hard to find specific tutorials. And in the end, things like rigging and weighting are learned and understood by trial and error.

Creating meshes is the easiest part in doing models for the game. The problems start with converting it to a playable object ingame, which assume most time for loading into the game and testing.

Yeah, I sort-of agree with the person above. However as further training do consider doing the snowman in a frosty-the-homicidal-snowman style ;D. (gaping maw, huge bloody claws, flaming red charcoal eyes, pentagram on the cylinder - that kinda stuff)
