Siegtorias
Hello there. I got the free trial of Substance Painter a few days ago and was texturing some ESO assets for Skyrim, however I wasn't thinking about the textures not being compatible. I take it that using Substance is a good way of texturing Skyrim though, as I've heard the Beyond Skyrim developers talk about blending the ambient occlusion and curvature maps into the base color to create the diffuse, and putting the roughness into the normal map for their projects. Does anyone know they do that, and is there a way to include the metallic and height maps somewhere too? Skyrim SE requires BC7 textures, right? I figure converting them after that would be simple. Siegtorias
I've found the non-PBR, traditional settings and I'm attempting to restart. Hopefully it will become obvious how the modding teams blend their maps. Good thing I only got to texturing this bucket and didn't do the whole cuirass or gambeson in PBR. Even ignoring the plume, doing this Daggerfall armor justice sure is tricky. Do you guys have any thoughts on it?
Siegtorias
Okay, apparently they were compatible after all, for the most part anyway. I'm confused by how simple it was, especially after I just found the Beyond Skyrim Substance post (https://store.substance3d.com/blog/see-how-team-modders-uses-substance-recreate-skyrim). I guess I got caught up in that for mostly no reason. They're a little shiny and lacking any ambient occlusion but here it is in-game. I'm not sure how to get cubemaps at all. Any advice on how to make it look better?
