Need Help with Spell Talent Option

In the vanilla game, you have Novice followed by Apprentice I believe, but anyways then you have the correlating talents, that reduce those level of spell by 50%

 

Example, "Reduce cost of all Novice Destruction Spells, by 50%"

 

I just tried to reroll it, so they are stacking talents, like this

 

"Reduces Cost of ALL Destruction Spells, by 20%" 1/3

 

"Reduces Cost of ALL Destruction Spells, by 40%" 2/3

 

"Reduces Cost of ALL Destruction Spells, by 60%" 3/3

 

My first attempt was a failure.

 

It looked cool, and all seemed to work, but the actual effect, when tested, gave the base 20%, and nothing more.

 

When I chose the other two points, it lit up, and once again, "looked" like it worked, but resulted in the same 20% reduction, (even when I made the value 40% & 60%)

 

Any tips on what to do here?

Oh, as I sit here, it occurs perhaps I should dupe the Novice perk for my 2nd and 3rd tier, and ignore the other perks entirely.

 

I will give this a try.
