Siegtorias
I'd like to edit the moonlight greatsword (https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/8692) to have the same heavy attack spell effect as the Bloodskall Blade, and retexture it's red color to blue. In the creation kit, the "DLC2EnchBloodskalWeaponGlow" is the only enchantment I see but it only adds "+5 red glow 1 sec" and does nothing on a different weapon. Anyone know how to get the heavy attack effect?
AnishaDawn
You may want to investigate the following Magic Effects DLC2BloodskalBladeEffect <-- I strongly feel this is what you're looking for.DLC2BloodskalDamageFFAimedHorizDLC2BloodskalDamageFFAimedVert
maxarturo
There are literally 100 of mods that have copy the Bloodskall projectile, including me... shame on me for a completely lack of imagination!!!... As AnishaDawn suggested. - DLC2BloodskalBladeEffect > Holds the script that "RegisterForAnimationEvent()" and casts the: DLC2BloodskalDamageFFAimedHoriz And DLC2BloodskalDamageFFAimedVert According with which animation is used for 2h weapons, and yes it does work with all 2H weapons. Have a happy modding. Edited May 22, 2021 by maxarturo
Siegtorias
Thank you, and yes I should have researched a little before asking here. But as it turns out, with no mods or creations and with or without the unofficial patch on a new game, the regular Bloodskal Blade doesn't fire when I add it in with the console, so it likely wouldn't have worked even if I had gotten the right animation script on a new weapon. It's not started by the quest or anything, right? I might have to reinstall before trying this, sorry for yesterday's impromptu post. I wanted to try something else since my armor mod creation was such a rabbit hole.
maxarturo
The 'unofficial patch' or mods play no role, especially if you intend on creating your own version from scratch. If i remember correctly the Bloodskall weapon has a script that when you equip/unequip the blade adds/remove a 'Perk' which contain the "DLC2BloodskalBladeEffect" ability spell, which casts the "DLC2BloodskalDamageFFAimedHoriz" and "DLC2BloodskalDamageFFAimedVert". * But i'm not 100% sure, it's been quite some time that i played with it. I hope it helps.
