frozenicepop222
Guys please help... I'm pulling my hair out trying to figure this out, put simply here's my problem i open 7zip with the NVSE files and such and i drag and drop to the fallout directory and it wont transfer the files in a group, even if I extract it to a folder it wont transfer or extract the .dll or .exe files unless i physically drag them one by one, then when i do try and launch the files it tells me "file is corrupted or unreadable" No matter how many times i redownload it it does the exact same thing every time. And if i physically move every file it's like the game wont read my NVSE at all no matter what i do.
dubiousintent
Seems like there are a couple of things going on here. Where are you downloading the NVSE archive file to: Desktop, the game folder, or somewhere else? Best practice is to always download to a "downloads" folder, so you can easily find the files. Later versions of Windows automatically create one under your "C:\Users\<YourAccountName>" tree. Right-click on the downloaded archive file, and in the context window that appears you should select the "7zip" option which then opens another context menu with various 7zip options. You want "Extract files...". This option lets you navigate to an "Extract To:" location path where you will extract the complete archive contents under a folder named in the second line of that window (usually matching the name of the 7zip archive file itself). Once that is done, then you can "drag and drop" your selected files and folders to the game folder using Windows Explorer. (You do not need the nvse "src" folder.) If you don't want to use the "context menu" approach, then you can open the archive in 7zip and select the "Extract" option from the menu bar. Key point: Do not try to "drag and drop" from the 7ZIP program itself. Only use it to unpack the archive file. It also has a "test archive" function (both in the context menu and on the menu bar) that will tell you if the downloaded file is corrupt. See this entry to confirm you have placed NVSE files correctly. Do you have your game installed in the Steam default location of "C:\Program Files"? If so, that is a part of the problem. Please read the "Installing Games on Windows Vista+" article in my signature and follow the link included there to the official Steam procedure for moving Steam games out of that folder tree. -Dubious- Edited July 14, 2016 by dubiousintent
sinste
i got it to work by just extracting zip to floder then open folder/s to the files (from zip), dragged all files to folder containing fallout .exe and it worked. now i just need to find the right body models that work lol
