lemonspaz
I've been trying my hand at making a custom fullbody armor for Oblivion a la Blender. My meshes are finished, textures mapped, everything's in position, I've carefully read several tutorials regarding skinning, bone weight copying, and exporting results into Nifskope for the whole Nifskope dance thing. I've made an esp for my armor mesh. I know I'm doing nothing wrong in the actual CS. I load the game, and equip my custom armor. ...my character's body dissapears, and she is now a floating head with a weapon. No armor. :( I've attempted to rerig my meshes a dozen times. I tried to manually weightpaint my meshes or use Growlf's fullbodymachine to bone weight copy. Nothing wrong was apparent in Blender; I can see my vertices colored with the right bones. I even animated my bones to make sure, and the vertices move as they should. None of my vertices lacked weights. Every attempt was met with the same, complete lack of visibility, so I'm wondering whether there's a hidden problem I hadn't noticed at all yet. How essential is it to reparent my mesh to the skeleton that was used in Growlf's resource? Couldn't I do that with any skeleton? Also, I'm using the latest Blender along with the latest of its components. Are there some things that all the tutorials may be overlooking? Same goes for Nifskope. I feel I have a good handle on the program, bu there's something wrong with my mesh all the same. What may I be overlooking in this process? I know that in my version of blender, it gives you options via submenu whenever you need to Ctrl-A and Ctrl-P. what should I do about that? Any other specific tips you'd like to point out would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

titipoko
If you hadn't found out by yourself, I would've suggested to look for either if there is no additional NiNode between your NiStrips and the 0 NiNode "Scene Root", the bone weight is adjusted correctly, the NiTexturingProperty has the correct path or if your textures have their appropriate mipmaps with them :P Oh, and really marvellous work on the mesh and the skin!
