thebeast505 Posted June 1, 2013 Posted June 1, 2013 I have been using NMM for all my mods for skyrim. but recently I have been noticing abunch of updates are needed for my mods and I was wondering if I should just download the "main file" again because it is updated or just go to the "updates" section and download all those. my main concern is that if I download all the update files (there are 3 for one mod) then I will have 4 mods total (1 main + 3 updates) just for one mod and this mod is a WIP so there will definetly be more. I know that in the skyrim load order it will all appear as 1 esp because the updates just overwrite the main but still my NMM will get filled up with updates. I don't really want to download the main mod again each time there is a update so is there any other way around this?

thebeast505 Posted June 2, 2013 Author Posted June 2, 2013 scratch that, thought I got it to work.but by installing the update it would just uninstall the Main file and then install the update which is NOT what I wanted :(any idea how to do this? sorry I know im a noob, never updated a mod before.
Marked0n3 Posted June 2, 2013 Posted June 2, 2013 Mods differ on whether you "Update" or have to clean install the newer version. You just have to read the info page for each mod :)
thebeast505 Posted June 2, 2013 Author Posted June 2, 2013 Yes we'll these are UPDATE, specifically this modhttp://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/8429/?tab=9&navtag=%2Fajax%2Fmodreadme%2F%3Fid%3D8429&pUp=1 I need the first 3 update files, I have them downloaded but whenever I click he's for it to update instead of install it just uninstalls the main file and switches to the update file only :(
AnkhAscendant Posted June 2, 2013 Posted June 2, 2013 You really only need the 2_43_3 main file for that one. The others are updates from older versions that will just be replaced when you put in the .43.3 version anyway. (Well, if that's not true then I did it wrong myself, but it seems to be working fine for me.) When you install it and it wants to overwrite the older version, select "yes". Only one of them will be active. (If you're using a 32-bit system it will fail, though, because this mod is too big, and you'll have to install it manually.)
thebeast505 Posted June 2, 2013 Author Posted June 2, 2013 Yeah I know that way will work :) but the mod is over 1gb and still a WIP which means ill have to redo enclosed that whole thing every time there's a update :(
