ruvuk
Hi. Just wanted to take a quick look, but I'm swamped. <lol> What the heck is the "kill cam" that can stop me from taking down a bad guy with fast-regenerating health?? Is this something related to fighting with magic? I've not yet done much real fighting with magic, but I'm trying to get warmed up. I figure I have to keep trying to get the experience I need for magic, but I almost always find myself at half-red before the bad guy goes down. And I often pull out a sword to make sure I don't actually wind up dead. I started a new game 2 days ago, and I'm really trying to use the magic, but I must be missing something important here because the magic always seems like such a poor substitute for a blade and good armor. (I'll be back. Working hard to digest all of the good info.)
RatcatcherOfKvatch
Ratcatcher, those are some nice enchantments you have, but aren't they a bit overkill? The ability to cast thunderbolt, dragonhide, paralysis, grand healing etc free of charge would make you an invincible mage powerhouse. Also, why do you need resist poison? Few enemies actually use it, and the ones that do hardly do any damage compared to the attacks that actually inflicted the poison on you. My enchantments just consist of fortify/regenerate health, fortify/regenerate stamina, fortify carryweight, muffle, and fortify one-handed, two-handed and archery. I don't normally do any proper roleplaying, but I put it on some nice ebony armour while rocking this beasty sword as a dark knight themed build (not that said weapon is dark, but the ebony greatsword just looks retarded). I play at max difficulty (Legendary since the patch) with the house rule of "Permadeath" (aka Iron Man, DiD, or Dead-Is-Dead). Whatever happens I want to live through it.I once died because a Briarheart poisoned me and I had no resistance to it. I was level 50-something and down I went. (I was poisoned several times in rapid succession before the Brairheart finished me off. Everything went green for a couple of seconds from all the poison before the fade-to-black.) So yeah ever since then "Resist Poison" has a top priority.I role-play to the extent I dress like a Stormcloak, carry Nord Hero weaponry, and filter my actions through the moral dimension of what is best for the College of Winterhold. Come to think of it that's quite a lot of RP, isn't it? @ruvuk: I finally found the right place to put the .ini command to disable the accursed kill cam. I had tried this before: [VATS]bVATSDisable=1 but nowhere I put it seemed to make a difference. It goes in Skyrim.Ini under "Users" directory tree. (...\My Games\Skyrim\Skyrim.Ini) not where the Skyrim program files or mods are located.
WTSherman
I would like to remind of us all of Enthir and the question you can ask, Whats not allowed here? Nothing funnier to me in this game than his bs. Edited June 27, 2013 by WTSherman
