DaughertyUSMC Posted May 27, 2021 Share Posted May 27, 2021 (edited) In my game, Serana is NOT vanilla - she is cured, is my spouse, wears custom armors, even rides a normal horse, and has several mods that support her, but then Dawnguard was completed years ago - literally, so no need to keep her "stock" beyond that. Problem I have been battling with constantly is that sans her vanilla outfit, she continuously self-equips Miner's Boots of all damn things, putting off the really nice footwear that comes with her various custom armors. This occurs during cell-changes, and frequently when dismounting her cayuse. I need for this to stop!!!How do I make that happen? Gorsha Posted May 27, 2021 Share Posted May 27, 2021 Simple Outfit Manager does the trick for me.Manipulator can do the same, but you have to define an outfit in SSEdit or in Creation kit. DaughertyUSMC Posted May 28, 2021 Author Share Posted May 28, 2021 Yeah - using both of those mods for a long while now - does not solve the issue. I even re-installed ALL Serana related mods to re-freshen her if you will - no joy with that either - still equips miner's boots even WITH her vanilla outfit on. Something, somewhere, within one of my mods, must contain a file that mistakenly overwrites and defaults Miner's boots as her footwear, when anything "changes" with her. I doubt I will ever find it! lol. I have never been able to figure out how to use the CK beyond changing a form ID - mainly because, if I am being honest, I have no desire to learn it due to a weird learning disability wherein I forget whatever I have read within a very short time - just cannot retain it, and CK is too complicated and dangerous to mess with under this condition. Not sure how to "define" an outfit in XEdit - that really poses no problem for me to use, but never tried what you suggest. DaughertyUSMC Posted May 28, 2021 Author Share Posted May 28, 2021 I get that, anjenthedog, but AFT is sooo outdated, and fraught with buggy behavior - don't get me wrong - I still use it in FO4, and love it! But for SSE, no thanx - I will stick with NFF. Now ... though there is a patch to allow her to use that follower framework, it is still a well known fact that using ANY follower system other than what Serana comes with in her package, can break her AND your savegame. I assume you know this, correct? With that said, I have at least 5 different ways to dress/equip her, or create outfits, and including having removed her Leveled Outfit completely in XEdit, she still magically produces and equips Miner's Boots. In everyway else, she is, and performs, quite well. So I reckon I will keep her ... even if she at times, DOES seem to be wearing Mickey Mouse's shoes! DaughertyUSMC Posted May 31, 2021 Author Share Posted May 31, 2021 Alright ~ I believe I finally figured out a simple solution for the aforementioned issue, above. I used a mod that allows in-game editing the values of various items i.e. player stats, weapon stats, armor stats, etc. With this I was able to greatly increase the armor strength of the footwear I wanted her to use, above that of her vanilla stuff, and so far, so good.
