Administrator Icon

Owing to disk errors, my game became corrupted, so I had to start over. Accordingly, I uninstalled Vortex and then downloaded it again. I see that the installer program has an Administrator icon. Is that normal?

 

I dimly remember, in my foolish youth, I once ran Vortex as administrator, which caused a lot of problems, but I removed the Administrator status in Properties and it ran OK afterwards. Now it pops up again, and I am filled with anxiety, because it has been drilled into my head never to run Vortex as Administrator.

 

Normally, I could get rid of Administrator by unchecking it in Properties, but guess what, it isn't checked in Properties! Checking and unchecking changes nothing. I had uninstalled this program by the usual method (in Apps) and shut down the computer completely, and rebooted before downloading, so I don't know how this could happen. There are lots of instructions (very confusing ones) online about removing administrator icons, but they only remove the icon itself, not Administrator status.

vortex needs to run as admin during install, but not during normal operation.
