PotaraWarrior
Hello, I installed a clean version of Skyrim SE and started modding it from scratch, through Vortex, for a new playthrough. I installed mods from an "essentials" list I had made during my previous playthrough. I jumped in the game to see if I had screwed anything up and everything worked well. After saving and exiting the game, I decided to try the graphics mods from Lexy's LOTD. I didn't follow the instructions to a tee because I was only borrowing the graphics (texture/meshes) so I felt it was ok to deviate in that aspect. After Installing what I was interested in, which was like 300 mods, I decided to go in the game to see how "pretty" everything looked. In the main menu, I chose "show all saves" and got a CTD. I loaded the game again and tried "continue" which led to another CTD. "New Game" resulted in a CTD as well. I proceeded to check what LOOT had to say and I had a few missing masters, so I installed what was missing and ran LOOT again. I just had some dirty plugins, but remembered that I had played the game with dirty plugins so I figured it was ok to run the game for testing purposes. Again I got a CTD when I selected "New Game".I decided to disable a few mods and test to see if they were the issue. CTD again.... I did this until the only mod that was left was skse and I still got a CTD.... I then disabled skse and ran skyrim through the regular launcher (SkyrimSELauncher.exe) and again I got a CTD when I tried to start a new game. At that point I was totally stumped and just wiped the game folder and reinstalled skyrim se.My question is, what do you think could have cause the problem?Modlist: https://modwat.ch/u/PotaraWarrior/modlist Edited May 31, 2021 by PotaraWarrior
Helmsmasher
Yeah. here's a tip: don't install 300 mods at once and expect them to work. Install them in smaller groups, no bigger than 10, and then do a testrun. That way it is far easier to find which one is the culprit.
