Alternative Start

HI all, since this is my first post on this forums i hope that it is in the correct section.

I already looked through these forums a bit and googled a lot but i couldn't find an appropriate solution.

Now, what i want is basically something simple: A different start. Completely. When you click on "New game" you should not start into the birth sequence, nor should any of the original quests be available.

We (we are a team of 6 guys, all more or less new to fallout modding but with experience in scripting, programming and modelling) want to make a completely new campaign and i'm in charge of the scripts, story, effects.

So: What happens exactly when you hit "New game"? What starts CG00? And where can i find the "startmarkers" occuring in the result script section of CG00? How can i make my own? Are they the same as the COCMarkers?

Thanks in advance, and in the case that all my questions were already answered: please point me into the right direction and close/delete this thread.

EDIT: This seems to not be my first post... is there a way i can look up all my posts?

That's beyond my understanding.

I know fallout wanderer's edition (FWE) has an optional "alternative start" add-on, which let's you skip the intro past the birthing.

You can choose many history options for your characters that give different bonuses and penalties.

Maybe you could look at that.

Some more info is further down this page in the alternative start section:

You might consider a less ambitious mod to start that could be built upon

CG00 is started depending on this line in the falllout.ini file:
SCharGenQuest=0001f388
It's the formId of the quest object. But you don't need to change the INI for alternate starts. Just edit the CG00 quest Stage 0 and the menumode block in CG00SCRIPT, etc to start your own Chargen quest that moves the player to an alternate startup location.

One thing to note with this is that at the start of a new game, the player's location is undefined, and gamemode scripts don't start running until you do a player.MoveTo SomeStartingCell
