[LE] How to Change How a Texture Displays with Nifskope

Recommended Posts

Howdy folks, I'm working on a mod for a different game, but it seems that a lot of the folks here are using the same tool I am, namely, Nifkskope, so I'm hoping someone here can help me out or point me in the right direction.

Does anyone know how to change how a texture displays on a nif? I'm working on a map, but I imagine the ideas are transferable. I can edit the textures themselves easily enough, but the textures on some map sections show up bigger or smaller, scrunched or stretched. What settings control how the texture is displayed? For example, I'm editing the map pictured below, and some nif sections displays the texture differently, smaller, than the surrounding textures. Anyone know how to monkey with this?

The texture on the left and in the center are the same, just being displayed differently by the mesh.

I've dug down into the settings on each type of terrain, and I really can't figure this out. They're mostly identical, and I've changed almost everything that IS different on the one to match the other, but no luck. The one thing that is different that I can't change is that the 'normal' textures have a "NiVertexColorProperty" entry. When I try to copy one of those to the small texture sections, it won't paste in on the right line, and if I try to insert one directly, it just goes to the bottom of the item list, outside of these entries. I'm quite flummoxed.

:EDIT: I've figured out how to attach the ColorProperty entries, but that doesn't seem to change anything.

Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!

You're welcome. Glad it got you where you needed to be. Darkfox has a bunch of good tutorials out there, though I don't know how many will pertain to other games. I think Elianora has some good ones dealing with nifskope, between SSE and FO4, though. Things like how to add transparencies to armor, mesh mashups, things like that, in case it would be of help.
