xCOMPLETEx
I'm fairly new to all of this modding stuff, so I have very little knowledge on how it all works. I'm just wondering if re-texturing an item from the game is as simple as dragging and dropping an image file into a specific place (as you do for some other games), or is it much more complicated than that? I'd like to start making some things, and figure this would be a great way to start.
MartinPurvis
Yeah, it's quite easy to retexture. The retextured file needs to be a .DDS type and you need to find the exact folder which the mesh file (.NIF) links to and then drop it in. You'll need to download Archive Invalidation to make them work I think. Also, if you're using Photoshop you'll need a DDS plugin. This video might help show you how, however I have no audio on this PC so I can't vouch for that.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LaHymxDH--A Good luck with it. Valmorrowind
Unless you want to change very small details, you won't be able to do that with photoshop. Retexturing is very difficult, because you have seams on your mesh. You will need to work on the UVs with Blender.
