All mods Suddenly stop working

Just as the title says, ALL of my mods just stopped, and unfortunately i can't figure out why or how, so thats why i'm asking for help. Only recently, I decided to do something stupid and install UNPetite instead of using (cause i was already using it) UNP Diamondized slim, and my mods stopped, all of them which i find weird. So i uninstalled UNPetite and put back my UNP diamondized, but my mods are still broken. The game runs fine vanilla, just that my mods won't show. They sort of work, but not really to the point that i want. Although the retextures i work are fine, anything that use meshes or are new to the game like armor and such, don't appear. And i could really use some help, cause i can't find a solution anywhere else.

You installed UNPetite which just put stuff in;

 

..\data\meshes\actors\character\ygNord

..\data\textures\actors\character\Enhanced\Female

 

..right?

I dont see how it can break the other mods using meshes (they have their own meshes...). Only meshes related issues right now, or others as well? Have you tried a new game to test? Anything else you have installed/uninstalled alongside of UNPetite (like it's armor replacement meshes) and forgot to uninstall those? Have you tried to re-install the armor mods, maybe NMM didn't place back the file overwrite or something?

Maybe.... well i'm gonna give up after like 10 hours of changing around files and stuff, i'll just do a new install and reinstall all my mods

but thanks anyways (also apparently it didn't break all of my mods, especially the ones requiring UNP Diamondized)

Yah, i'm really not gonna bother with a whole bunch of meshes and stuff...and also i used only NMM so i didn't manually install them by dropping them in.

Any chance you have FNIS and didn't run it after changing to UNPetite and back? Its a different skeleton I think (not sure tho)

Yah, i didn't run FNIS, i have it, but never used the generator or such before, but otherwise, i fixed it, somehow i had a backup folder of my meshes and i just put that it, and if gave me another problem which i easily fixed.

I guess making backups are the best thing to do...

yea... backups... been a while since I done that since my Data folder is about 35 GB... I think it's about time =)

(Possible Very Minor Spoilers)

 

I know this topic is old but I wanted to show what I did to fix my mods not loading, for anyone who is having this problem more recently.

 

 

My mods and DLC were not loading. Well, technically the DLC was loading but as brand new content. My last saved game was in Dimhollow Crypt, the first dungeon in Dawnguard, and when I loaded my game it sent me back to the inn in Riverwood. I guess that's the location the games send you to if an area no longer exists in the game. When I walked outside I was immediately attacked by Cultists, the very first thing that happens when you have installed Dragonborn. However, it didn't just send me back there. My character had lost his armor and had no eyes (as terrifying as it sounds) and no hair because I had equipped my character with modded armor, hair, and had eyes chosen from an eye color pack. The game also had my character in a grotesque pose as I had saved my game holding a crossbow and now didn't have one but the pose held. So basically, my character had become Gollum with no eyes. o_O

 

HERE'S WHAT I DID TO FIX IT:

 

I signed out of Steam and logged in again. I read that someone had tried that so I tried it. I also opened up LOOT (a load order organizer, I highly recommend it. It's the new BOSS for Fallout 4 and Skyrim) and sorted my load order. I also clicked "Redate Plugins" as it said it would re-download my Steam content, including mods and the official DLC. I then ran Skyrim from Steam, not SKSE (Skyrim Script Extender). I let it go through all my mods and check them and make sure they were all up to date. I also use Nexus Mod Manager, and I decided it couldn't hurt to re-scan for my games. So I did, and then opened up the Skyrim mods page. There, I checked to make sure all the plugins were activated and started SKSE from there. My SKSE still loads up the launch window, but I know most of the time it just opens straight to the game. I let it check all the mods again just to be sure and started the game.

 

Everything worked great.

 

 

Now, I know there's a lot of steps and I'm not sure which in particular fixed the problem, but seeing that they're all simple, quick fixes I figured it couldn't hurt to try them all.

 

I don't know if this will help anyone else but I figured I'd post my fix just in case it would work for anyone else.

Had this issue couple years ago after installing a widget and couldn't figure it out so i wiped my game and started over. Yesterday had it again this time though I know that the issue was from having over 500 esps and files of the like in my data folder. Tested it by decressing and increasing to make sure over and over. Note that only 253 were active ever but i just had some mods i used as resources in the creation kit sitting there for when I needed them. So check how many esps and other files you have in that directory with something like Wyre Bash (Which will yell at you :) and save yourself some irritation. Hopefully this solves it for some.

Quite an old thread but was wondering when I'd bump into someone who's describing the same kind of issue I keep facing.

 

Maybe loot sorting and skyrim launcher without SKSE solved it.

 

I don't even know why the game breaks in the first place. Didn't even install anything new and the game just breaks by itself. Second time this happened.

 

Last time any saved game would load me into the tavern if I wasn't already there. Now I dropped from the sky into some prison with new games always starting at the vanilla beginning and alternate life mod not working, but now is.
