Basic tutorial for exporting a simple static mesh into New Vegas

I don't where to exactly put this but for some reason I found this the best place to put it. I'm currently working on a mod for Fallout: New Vegas, and I've made a basic mesh that's ready for exportation, not worrying about texturing until later, just trying to figure out how to get it working before I take any further steps. I can't seem to find any good tutorials on how to import it properly into the geck and new vegas, every time I try to it turns invisible and I can't see it.
