Feldren Race

Hiya! I'm making a custom race, the (very much so) beta version's out on the site now, it's called the Feldren. However, I'm new to making mods, this is my first one, and I don't know how to implement some things:

First off, Vampire Lord doesn't work with my custom race. WHen I first get the abilty, and Harkon tells me to "assume the mantle of the Vampire Lord" I use the ability, but I get stuck, listening to Harkon tell me "Become a vampire lord and we'll continue" or whatever it is he says. I think this might be because I didn't have Dawnguarrd active in the CK, but is that the actual problem or is it something else? It has the Vampire and ActorTypeUndead keywords. Also, when I play my race, I start with sanguinare vampiris, any ideas on how to fix that?

 

Second, I want to add a lesser power to my race that lasts for a minute, and what it does is when it's active, all your spells deal more damage, but you can't be healed by potion or spell while it's active. What would be awesome is if I could have it so that only Drain spells can heal, but if that's not possible, no problem. I just don't know how to make an ability like this in the CK

I would bet my pinkie toe that it was indeed because dawnguard was not active in the CK.

 

On the other hand, I'm probably going to sleep with shoes on tonight, because I don't know the Creation Kit from Louis C.K.

Ok, any ideas on how I can make the lesser power?

Bah- for some reason when I try to put Dawnguard in the creation kit it crashes, any ideas on how to fix this?
