dco28
Is it ok to merge the plugins of ADAM, it got about 9 plugins, did anyone tried it? if yes, was there no errors witnessed in merging them? using plugin utility also for improved sound fx or enchanced blood textures? senterpat
You can merge pretty much any mod if you do it right. Download the fnvedit training manual.
dco28
i already tried it with armors, im just not sure with others :)
Gribbleshnibit8
Smaller mods that add textures or edit armors are pretty fine to merge with an automatic program. However, larger mods, or mods that are relied upon by other mods, should not be merged in an automatic manner, because some conflicts might arise that would not be caught, and would break things. gmg2dave
Has anyone tried using this to merge mods that add companions? For instance, I would like to use both Niner and Desmond Harper, alongside Willow or perhaps Wendy Gilbert, but I am not sure if merging all three (or 4) of those plugins would possible break the scripts that control them. Any advice?
Aonghus
Not sure about trying to merge four, but I have merged Willow and Wendy Gilbert without breaking anything.
gmg2dave
Thanks for the reply Aonghus, that helps. Both of those are very script heavy, and I have heard that merging mods with FNVEdit is best done on mods that do not have scripts. But if it worked for you, I am going to give it a try and see what happens. So many great companions have been released, but I don't want to break my game trying to use all of them as separate mods. TheStrictNein
I only tend to merge mods that are very simple, for instance Millenia's weapons. I tend to avoid merging mods with any real complexity using the FNV plugin utility
luthienanarion
Sometimes merging offsets the index of references to the player in scripts, so they will have to be re-compiled in the GECK. If you're merging mods with MCM menus, you can count on them to break completely and have to be edited.
