bben46
I checked out your site. It looks good, I have always liked Pompeii. However, If you are going to lead a mod project, you must expect to do most of the work yourself. Most good modders are pretty independent and don't like to be told what to do or how to make a mod. This will be a large project and will not be completed anytime soon. Plan on spending 4 hours a day minimum for about 4 to 6 months or more. First, you will have to learn the CS. If you can't mod, no one else will bother with you. Then post some pics of YOUR work to show that you are serious, then if you can get somebody interested, be prepared for artistic disagreements over nearly everything, and have a backup of all of their work in case they quit in the middle. My recommendation, make a single building to start. Possibly in its own world space (not too big). Then grow it one building, one NPC and one model at a time, but make it open ended and invite others to contribute. They could add buildings, city features, NPCs, items and landscape features. Have a basic layout of what you want, but don't expect everyone to follow it closely. There may be more than one who wants to make the baths, or the harbor. Allow it, but be sure they are placed in different locations. A city can have more than one bath, and more than one harbor - actually Pompeii had 2 harbors and several baths. I'm interested in seeing what you do with the volcano.
bayant
ifI have to spend 4 hours a day for 4-6 months, than I won't have the time. I also suck at modding. I'm screwed.
Palpenious
Come on now, don't give up that easily. He just means that starting with no knowledge base, expect to spend extra time learning before any real work gets done. You could easily spend an hour or two every other day, it would just take quite a bit more time. After learning the CS (which takes very little time) things start to speed up. How big are you planning on making it? What would you need specific help with? This might get more people interested. I've just recently been able to get back into Morrowind, so that fact alone makes me interested. Get to know the CS a little, find a couple tutorials. Then start with bben's suggestion, make a house, or the island, something simple you can show off a little to whet peoples appetites.
bben46
Make your worldspace an island, with a volcano of course, at the base of the volcano have a place to lay out your city. Make the coastline so you can have at least 2 ports. Maybe some streets. Then sell real estate to modders.
