SKSE ClearInvalidRegistrations ini file question.

So I get that you have to make an SKSE folder and an ini file. But for adding ClearInvalidRegistrations how do I make it where it clears invalid registrations for ALL saves? Is it ClearInvalidRegistrations = 1 or ClearInvalidRegistrations = 0?

Also, after I add the ini file for these commands. Will I still be able to use ClearInvalidRegistrations in the console command?

No,

what you have to do is install SKSE first, not just make a folder. Get it here and follow installation instructions closely http://skse.silverlock.org/

When that is installed youll get the SKSE folder inside Data... then open that folder and create SKSE.ini and copy this in it, save & exit. When you run Skyrim you'll need to start it using the SKSE launcher, not the normal Skyrim launcher. That's all.

ClearInvalidRegistrations=1

I have SKSE installed but in the Skyrim data folder there's no SKSE folder for me. Does that mean I have to make a folder called SKSE in the Skyrim data folder?

ok, then just create the folder & ini

So, ClearInvalidRegistrations=1 without spaces between the equal sign and number right?

exactly :)

remember that it does take time for it to work... so you need to play the game. And it's by no means a guaranteed fix for any scripts staying active after an uninstall. The only good way to uninstall a mod is to go back to a save game which has not 'seen' that mod.

So is it safe to overwrite my saves or should I select the new save option?

CannedBullets, I would SO appreciate your advice. I am kind of new to pc. I am 159 hours in at 133 MB :sad: I have never uninstalled a mod. Would this help me?

I installed SKSE and just got the NMM. I made a folder in notepad and named it with .ini. Is it a ini file now? I didn't see the option to change file type.

If you create a new document with Notepad its file extension will be ".txt". You'll have to change it to ".ini". If you don't see the file extension it means your operating system is hiding it. Unhide it first (Google if you don't know how). When you turn it into an .ini file you should automatically see the icon change (for me in Windows 7 it's a text document with a blue gear). Also its file type description will no longer say it's a text file but a configuration file. I hope that makes sense. It's a bit hard for me to explain because my Windows isn't in English.

And yes it's ClearInvalidRegistrations=1. It's binary. 1 means enabled. 0 means disabled.

thenobody0, Thank you so much! You explained it perfectly. I really appreciate it! You are awesome! Let me go see if I can figure this out, now :)
