CrimsonB Posted February 8, 2009 Posted February 8, 2009 I've recently purchased a new laptop and I have been trying to get the save games that I copied over from my desktop PC to work - without much success. The game crashes shortly after trying to load them in. Here's all the relevant info I can think of - Operation Anchorage is installed on both computers and I play logged in to Live. The desktop is running XP, the new laptop is running Vista. Fallout is installed to the C drive on the desktop and the D drive on the laptop.I was using (several) mods on the desktop, but even if I try a save created with them all removed (not disabled, actually removed), the imported saves still crash on the laptop.Strangely, the very first save I had, with neither the DLC or any mods installed works just fine (but it's right at the start of the game, something like 30 hours earlier than the ones I want to use.All I can think of is that either it's a problem with the installations having slightly different paths (the only variation between the two is the letter of the drive) or the fact that the DLC is saved to a different place under Vista than it is on XP. Does anyone have any advice or workarounds they can offer? EDIT: After a bit of tweaking, I'm fairly sure it's a Live DLC issue - if I copy the saves and the DLC into the folders that allow me to use them offline, the save works just fine. It just crashes on the laptop if I then try to load it (after once again moving the save into the appropriate folder) when logged in to Live (and only on the laptop - the same process on the desktop and it works just fine).
